Beach Closures
We make every effort to be open during the Beach season. However, there are certain situations where we might not be abl
e to open or have to close early. Pass holders are not guaranteed a minimum number of days that the Beach is open. The Beach may close under these situations:
When thunder and lightning are present
During cold, inclement weather. The Beach does not open if the temperature is 65 degrees or below. Environmental factors, such as low air quality
Inadequate staffing
Extra chlorination and/or maintenance is needed
The Beach will close early at 4 pm on days of low attendance.
****Safety****
The Beach follows American Red Cross safety guidelines. Beach-goers should use the buddy system and supervise young children at all times. Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices may be worn in the water.
6 years and under need to have an adult supervisor in the water with them.
12 years and up can come alone. Please swim with a buddy.
***All kids 11 and under MUST wear a LIFE JACKET!! Life jacket rentals for $1
***Swim Tests can be taken for kids ages 9-11 to be able to swim for the season without a life jacket. We will do tests on the hour daily.
***Life Jackets do not need to be worn in the Frog and Canoe area of the pool up to the lane line, although 6 and under need to be accompanied by an adult in the water STILL with or without a life jacket. Family licensed childcare pass/group home: Cost is $169 (Includes two adults and up to 12 children.) Pinehurst Park is a great place to go for a swim with filtered, chlorinated water and a sand-bottom. The Beach at Pinehurst Park is located in Cloquet, Minnesota. Just off Hwy 33 - at the intersection of 33 and Carlton Avenue. The clean, cool water is refreshing on a hot summer day. Sunbathers and children will love the sand. Swim Areas
The zero entry is great for little ones. Swim lanes and a 6 foot center depth - for swimmers of all levels. Facility & Activities
Changing rooms, kiddie slides, sand volleyball court, shade umbrellas,
picnic areas, Archaeological Dinosaur Dig Site, Bags and Ladder Golf. (see front desk for volleyballs, golf ball ropes and bags!)
New for 2023: Patrons can bring food to the Beach. We will have vending machines and ice cream available to purchase at the desk. Please no glass, alcoholic beverages, grills, potlucks or birthday cakes. The pavilion outside of the Beach is available to rent for birthday parties. In order to keep the area clean, we are asking for patrons to pack in, pack out. THERE IS NO CONCESSIONS THIS YEAR.
