An aftershock is a smaller earthquake following the main shock of a large earthquake. In more general terms it is the after effect of a distressing event. What comes later, the aftershock, is the mental component. When we commit to an exercise regimen we develop our bodies but with consistency over time we begin to develop our minds. Health and fitness is a mental journey just as much as it is a p

hysical one. Once we learn how to control our minds and be more comfortable being uncomfortable, the physical and mental growth is inevitable. Let's work together on this journey to grow not only physically but also mentally and experience the positive aftershock of your training. They almost didn’t go for it.

Sat on the idea for weeks… maybe months or even years. Kept telling themselves the same story:
“What if I fail?”
“What if I’m not ready?”
“What if people see me fall short?”

And the longer they sat in that loop, the more real it felt.

The hesitation grew.
The doubt got louder.
The version of them that never even tried started to feel… normal.

But here’s the shift:

Nothing in their life changed until the thought changed.

From: “What if I fail?”
To: “What if this actually works?”

Same person. Same situation.
Different thought → different action.

They showed up. Took the shot. Figured it out as they went.

Was it perfect? No. Was it worth it? Every time.

Because thoughts don’t just live in your head—they build the life you end up living.

So if you’re stuck right now, ask yourself:

What story are you repeating? And is it building the life you actually want?

One of the quietest signs of progress is when something that used to challenge you starts to feel normal.

The run that once felt long becomes your easy day.
The workout that once intimidated you becomes routine.
The weight that once felt heavy becomes manageable.

Your comfort zone expands.

Sometimes you notice it in small ways… like catching yourself saying:

“It’s only 10 miles.” Or “that workout wasn’t that bad.”

That’s growth.

But it’s also feedback.

Because when something that once challenged you becomes comfortable, it might be time to push the boundary again.

Pay attention to what starts to feel normal.

That’s usually where the next level begins.
