ABOUT THE FOUNDER:
Patrice Jones has been a full-time entrepreneur and certified health and fitness professional since 2009. After losing 75 pounds through nutrition and exercise, she started her own fitness brand; FRU FIT. Within this space she has led dozens of clients in their weight loss journeys across the DMV and abroad. She has also collaborated with area non-profit organizations in commun
ity efforts and fundraising for military families (Semper Fi Fund), helped the homeless (SOME - So Others Might Eat) and assisted area youth and their families (Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington and Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative). Under her fitness brand, FRU FIT, she then started an award-winning women’s powerlifting team called the FRU FIT POWERLIFTERS. Unfortunately in March of 2019, Patrice was forced to shut down all in-person fitness operations due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Patrice had been battling a genetic blood disorder for many years which caused her to develop DVT’s (blood clots) and pulmonary embolisms of the lung over 17 times. She has endured multiple hospitalizations; however in July 2020 she experienced the worst of them all. After 2 surgeries and a hospital stay that lasted almost a month, Patrice changed the trajectory of both her business and her nutrition. Even while unable to walk much or exercise, she lost 50 pounds ‘from the couch’. In 2021, Patrice launched FRU FIT meal prep and delivery service to help others follow her new found blueprint of healthy living. She also became a blog writer for WebMD; sharing her story of triumph with DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) and PE’s (Pulmonary Embolisms) of the lung. Connecting with others, sharing life-impacting and motivating is her ultimate passion in life. To leave this earth as late as possible and at her highest level of self is her life goal.
“A life of service and gratitude for all things is a wealthy life.” - Patrice Jones, FRU FIT
