LIGHT IT UP RECAP
WOW! What. A. Night. This meet has truly grown into a true community event -- with involvement from sooo many other organizations. A meet that was born out of COVID and Mr. Koeppel’s vision (no football in 2020) has truly grown into one of the most exciting XC meets in the state (so much media presence!).
The night wouldn’t be possible without the Clinton, Wapella & Kenney fire departments (and other fire departments from surrounding areas) and the team will be donating back to those departments with proceeds of the event.
HUGE thank you to our amazing parent volunteers. From early morning set up to directing traffic during the meet — you guys were LIFESAVERS to us!!!!! The course was marked amazingly - Coach Sosamon has worked so hard on course design. This year, we had SO many parent volunteers and set up went so smoothly (fastest ever???!!!)! THANK YOU. We are deeply thankful for your amazing support.
The fireworks capped off an amazing evening. Darren Moser dreamed this and fundraised for it. It truly made it magical. First to the Finish said they were on a disney cruise this summer and THESE fireworks were better!!! Thank you – now ON TO RESULTS
The course was fast with such an electric environment! Overall we had 18 lifetime bests and 21 course PRs run tonight! Additionally, we had so many athletes that were first time 3 mile racers and they did NOT look like it!
Each athlete votes for a peer elected athlete of the meet: There were SO MANY DESERVING ATHLETES -> your Light It Up Athletes of the Meet were: CAYDEN BOSTIC & PRESTON TRESNAK!
