AKRON ZOO - SUMMIT COUNTY COMMUNITY APPRECIATION DAY FOR CLINTON RESIDENTS!

For the month of September, Akron Zoo tickets are available for one free visit and must be reserved online and in advance at akronzoo.org and are date specific. You can get 4 tickets per household. Reserved tickets will be emailed and only be valid for the date you have selected and cannot be exchanged. Your address will be required for the free tickets. Simply follow the online instructions.

Also, for those who do not have access to a computer there are twenty tickets available at Village Hall. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday - 9 to 1:00 PM.

🇺🇸 Well… Mother Nature had other plans.

As much as we wanted to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday together today, the weather simply didn’t cooperate.

While we’re disappointed, we’re incredibly grateful for the amazing support from our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, entertainers, participants, and everyone who was planning to spend the day with us. The excitement and community spirit you’ve shown has been incredible.

The good news?

This was never meant to be a one-time celebration.

We’ll be back next year with another Village of Clinton Independence Day Celebration, and after seeing the enthusiasm from this year, we’re already excited to start planning.

Keep an eye on this page beginning this fall as we announce the 2027 date and start sharing plans for another unforgettable community celebration.

Rain may have washed out today’s event, but it certainly didn’t wash away our community spirit.

We’ll see you next year, Clinton! ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 THE WAIT IS OVER… TODAY’S THE DAY! 🇺🇸

After months of planning, countless volunteer hours, and incredible community support, the Village of Clinton’s America 250 Celebration is finally here!

Join us today at Warwick Park as we celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday the best way we know how… together as a community.

Best of all… admission, activities, and train rides are FREE!

Here are a few last-minute reminders before you head out:

🎉 Opening Ceremonies begin at 12:00 PM.
🎁 Stop by the Welcome Booth first to pick up your event information and one of our FREE swag bags for the first 40 families!
🚂 Riding the train? The Welcome Booth is located right next to the train stop.
💧 FREE bottled water, generously provided by Clinton Auto Repair, will be available throughout the day while supplies last.
♿ ADA parking is available near the baseball diamond off N. 2nd Avenue.
🚲 Bike & Scooter Parade and Golf Cart Parade participants should line up by 12:45 PM.
🪑 Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair so you can relax and enjoy the music, activities, and vintage base ball throughout the afternoon.

Most importantly, take time to meet your neighbors, support our vendors, thank our volunteers, and enjoy everything our community has worked so hard to make possible.

From all of us involved in planning this celebration… thank you for being part of this historic day.

🌤️ Weather Update 🌤️

We’ve been keeping a close eye on today’s forecast, and at this time the America 250 Celebration is ON! 🇺🇸

There is a chance for a few passing showers during the day, but the forecast is still shaping up to provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy the celebration.

We’ll call it a free misting station courtesy of Mother Nature! 🌦️😄

As with any Northeast Ohio summer day, we’ll continue to monitor the weather and make adjustments if needed, but we’re looking forward to a great afternoon together!

We recommend bringing a lawn chair… and maybe tossing a small umbrella in the car, just in case.

We’ll post any important updates here if conditions change.

🚨 OFFICIAL CLINTON AMERICA 250 COMMUNITY ADVISORY 🚨

After months of planning, countless meetings, and approximately 7,842 Facebook comments… including 1,376 making us aware of grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, incorrect dates, and a variety of other random issues… Village officials have one simple request:

Please remember… we’re all neighbors tomorrow. 🇺🇸😂

💺 Parking
Yes, there’s extra parking.
Yes, there’s a train.
No, parking directly in front of the gazebo because “I’m only gonna be a minute” is still not an option.

🧸 Stuffed Animal Collection Guidelines
Kids: Go have fun!

Adults: If you hear yourself saying, “That teddy bear would look great in my office,” it may be time to let one of the kids win this round.

🎵 Live Music
Please clap, dance, sing along…

But if you suddenly decide you’re the lead singer, we may politely lower your imaginary microphone.

⚾ Vintage Base Ball
Yes, they really play without gloves.
Yes, they really pitch underhand.
No, yelling, “Use a mitt!” from the sidelines won’t change the rules from the 1860s.

🌭 Food
Our food vendor has worked hard to be here.

Please allow them at least three minutes before asking,
“What’s good?”

Spoiler: It’s all good.

If you find yourself:
• Arguing with a picnic table…
• Waving at the same golf cart three separate times…
• Or introducing yourself to the gazebo… (His name is Earl.)

It might be time to grab some water and find a little shade.

Thanks to the generosity of Purdy Paws, convenient event parking will be available in their parking lot. From there, hop aboard The Little Roaming Railroad for a FREE ride to Warwick Park!

No hunting for parking. No long walks. Just climb aboard, enjoy the ride, and let the adventure begin.

Whether you're 5 or 95, there's something special about hearing the whistle, waving to friends, and rolling into the celebration by train.

A huge thank you to Purdy Paws for donating their parking lot and to The Little Roaming Railroad for helping make this year's celebration even more memorable.
