Tomorrow morning SATURDAY, APRIL 11 at The Cage

Open batting for softball players 9:30-11am
This is NOT a lesson, but girls can come in and hit off of the softball machine at any point between 9:30 and 11 or for the whole hour and a half. There will be a person there to operate the machine so no setup, figuring out the machine, or feeding balls through required.
$10 cash when you arrive and you can hit as many as you’d like!

A mother is trying to get her 3-year-old son life-saving cancer treatment.

Right now, she cannot.

Her son Atlas has stage 4 refractory neuroblastoma. His prognosis is around 20 percent. This is the kind of diagnosis where timing matters and delays can cost everything.

This week, her fight is not just medical. It is administrative.

Jacqueline says she has spent months trying to get him on his father’s insurance. He was finally approved. Then the hospital denied it.

She tried another path. She was told even paying out of pocket has to go through a second party because of state restrictions. A consult and labs alone are $7,000. That does not include treatment.

She is being told different things by different people. Insurance. Hospital. Case managers. Funding programs.

No clear answer.

She is doing this alone. She had to stop working to care for him full time. She manages chemotherapy, appointments, hospital stays, and everything in between. She also has a 6-year-old daughter at home trying to understand why her brother is always gone.

Her words are simple.

“I don’t understand how it gets to this point, where a 3-year-old fighting cancer can’t have the care he needs.”

That is where they are.

Not out of options medically. Stuck trying to access them.

Too windy outside? Come get your swings in at The Cage this week instead. We have both a baseball pitching machine and softball pitching machine (pictured) available for use plus balls for each provided.

We’ve also noticed some people utilizing the softball machine for slow pitch practice as well lately!

Come test yourself, and train this week at The Cage!

We have both a softball pitching machine AND baseball pitching machine so you do NOT need to switch the ball chute attachments; just use the correct balls with the machine that matches your sport (tall machine= baseball; short machine=softball)!

Just a friendly reminder to make sure you’re following the rules, and staying safe while utilizing The Cage. Helmets MUST be worn while in the batting cage and ESPECIALLY when using the machines.
This is also a reminder that we do have cameras and periodically check in to make sure that those rules are being followed. Rules put in place for your safety, and to keep the space and equipment in its best condition so everyone can continue to use The Cage and have fun.
