Hawk players & Families-
After much prayer & careful consideration, I (coach Bobby) have decided to step down as head boys basketball coach at Clinton Middle School.
The time has come for me to just be dad and not wear the hat of coach and dad. With my children both heavily involved in sports and activities at the high school level, I want to make sure that I am present for them during Isaiah's remaining high school days and Emersyn as she begins this important season of her life.
This is a bittersweet moment for me. I'm looking forward to being present for my family but I will miss so many things about being the boys basketball coach at Clinton. I love Clinton and I love our schools here, as being one who grew up in these schools. It has been a true honor to pour into so many of you players, doing our best to help you develop as young men and teach you the game of basketball.
Over the years, coach Love, myself and mainly our players, amassed a record of 61-13, a sectional appearance, and two 2nd place back-to-back district finishes, including wins over some of the best programs in the state of Tennessee. More importantly, we were able to be a small part of building a winning culture at CMS and even more importantly, a culture of integrity, hard work and strong values in our
Parents, I want thank you for the continued support youโve given our program and to me.
Returning players, I will miss being on the sideline with you & watching each of you develop your skills as players and grow into young men. However I have no doubt that youโll continue to achieve great success.
Graduating players, Iโm excited to watch your high school careers begin.
As for the future of the program, Coach Waugh and the CMS admin will lead a search to find the next great and even better head coach. I will remain part of this transition until a new coach is in place or until the end of school, which ever comes first.
And you better believe Iโll still be in the stands cheering you all on. Iโm not going anywhere.
It has been an honor and I've enjoyed every moment of it.
Hawks on 3. Family on 6.
