Tired of slicing your driver and losing distance? Here's a totally different way to think about your swing—and it's going to change the game for you.
1. Stop trying to hit at the ball
Most amateurs try to hit *at* the ball with their arms and get stuck behind it, leading to slices and poor contact.
2. Hit from the inside, the right way
It’s not about tilting your body dramatically to swing in-to-out. Instead, let your right arm straighten in the downswing. That drops the club on plane and helps you approach from the inside naturally.
3. Use your body rotation, not your arms
Rotating through the shot—not leaning back—lets you hit up on the ball while staying in control. When your chest keeps turning, the left shoulder rises and clears, allowing a proper path and better launch.
4. Stop starting with the club behind the ball
Here's the trick: set the clubhead opposite your right foot at address (not behind the ball), and keep your regular stance. This makes your brain and body work differently—your arms drop, then your turn brings the club around, rather than hacking at the ball.
5. Train the motion with practice swings
Practice the feel: drop your arms, turn through, and brush the tee. Get that sequence dialed in before adding balls. Once it clicks, the ball will launch higher, straighter, and further—without the effort.
Try it at the range. Don’t just copy old advice—rethink it. This fresh perspective might be the breakthrough your driver swing needs.
