Yesterday, the Wolves and Lady Wolves Bowling teams finished their season in the MHSAA Class II State Championship tournament. The Wolves came back from an early deficit to take 2nd place in a great field of competition. We’ll celebrate the finish, but we’re hungry for more and we’ll be back. Thanks again to our seniors Hayden Washington and Laterrionous Ramiz for their efforts and contributions to the program! Congratulations to all of our Wolves bowlers on the fantastic season, which they finish with a 9-3 record, including one regular season tournament win and another runner up.
The Lady Wolves got off to an incredibly rough start, posting numbers that put them in last place after game 1. In games 2-4, they battled all the way back to take 3rd place in the final standings of the state championship with a very young team. The young ladies on this team have a resolve like no other and while they don’t get a trophy for a 3rd place finish, this was an incredible effort to get themselves back into the mix and finish the day on a very positive note. This makes back to back years with a 3rd place finish for the Lady Wolves for a team with NO seniors on the roster. As we continue to learn how to win, we know the future is bright for our program. Congratulations ladies on a great season, which they finished with a 9-2 record and one third place finish in a regular season tournament.
We are all looking forward to the future with these young bowlers and hope to continue to build upon our legacy. Over the years, the Wolves and Lady Wolves have achieved the following:
Girls
1x Class II Regional Championship (2021)
4x Class II Regional Runner-up (2018, 2019, 2020, 2023)
2x Class II State Runner-up (2019, 2020)
3x Class II State 3rd Place (2018, 2023, 2024)
Boys
1x Class II Regional Championship (2024)
4x Class II Regional Runner-up (2018, 2019, 2020, 2023)
1x Class II State Runner-up (2024)
1x Class II State Champion (2022)
In the span of 7 seasons, we have established this program as one of the strongest in the state in Class II. We will keep working to uphold our reputation and excel on the lanes! Many thanks to Edward Gong and Harmony FEC for hosting our team as well as to Charles Van Daley and David Wardlow, who have volunteered countless hours of their time and helped to mold some of these young bowlers into the excellent team we have today.
