The Lake Forest Bruins Wrestling team honored their 8th graders last night in their last home meet of the season against McMinn, and came away with the win 71-18. Before the match, we had the privilege of recognizing these awesome 8th graders and their families. Thank you again to all of our 8th grade wrestlers and families for all that you do for the Lake Forest Wrestling Program. The coaching staff is extremely proud of each and every one of you, and are thankful that we got to play a small role along the way. God Bless and Go Bruins!

Survive and Advance!
The Lake Forest Bruins Wrestling Team extended their dual meet season last night in the Region Dual Tournament. The Bruins finished runner-up to Cleveland Middle in a tightly contested match that saw two great teams battling back and forth until the final whistle was blown. Lake Forest made it to the championship match with wins over Hixson, and number two seed Hunter Middle. The runner-up finish means that the Bruins will advance to the Sectional Duals this Friday at East Hamilton Middle. We need everyone to come to East Hamilton at 5:30 on Friday, to help cheer on the Bruins as they try to punch their ticket to the State Duals. God Bless and Go Bruins!

The Lake Forest Bruin Wrestling Team traveled down to Trion, Georgia today and competed in the Trion Memorial Tournament. We took 18 wrestlers to the tournament, and are coming home with 17 MEDALISTS! Our guys wrestled TOUGH all day, and walked away as the TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS! We are extremely proud of the way the guys fought and had each others backs today! We love this team, and look forward to watching them progress this season. Thank you to all of the fans that came down to support these guys by staying until the last kid wrestled. God Bless and Go Bruins

Huge match tonight with our cross town rivals, Ocoee Middle. We need the stands packed out in black and gold, ready to get loud for the Bruins! Wrestling begins at 5:30 PM with JV matches, and varsity to follow immediately after that. Also, our girls team makes history tonight and closes out the evening with their first dual meet in school history!

Busy day yesterday as the Lake Forest Bruins Wrestling team stepped on the mat for the first time this season. All of our kids wrestled hard and competed. Progress was definitely made, and I am very proud of how they wrestled! Now we prepare for a very busy week coming up. Also, thank you to our parents/fans for supporting all of our boys yesterday and being loud all day! Looking forward to the rest of the season and watching these young men progress! Time to introduce our first ever, Head Girls Wrestling Coach, Coach Aaron Hicks!

Bio:
Coach Hicks is born and raised right here in Bradley County. He started wrestling at Bradley Jr in 7th grade when the football coaches recommended it to stay in shape. He fell in love with the sport of wrestling and never looked back. He went on to wrestle for legendary coach, Steve Logsdon at Bradley Central, and has been around the sport ever since. Coach Hicks has been an assistant to Coach Ensminger at Lake Forest for the last 10 years, where he was recently recognized as assistant coach of the year by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association. Coach Hicks also spent several years as an assistant coach at Bradley Central under Head Coach Ben Smith. He is a dad of 3, Landon (21), Lane (20), and Aby (16), all 3 of which wrestled at Lake Forest, with Lane going on to wrestle throughout high school for the Bradley Bears. Coach Hicks has been married to his wife Makayla for 2 years, and together they are parents to their 2 fur babies (blue tick hounds) Kato and Crockett.

From Coach Hicks: I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity Coach Ensminger gave me 10 years to be a part of this program and give back the same ways coaches poured in to me years ago. And to have the opportunity to lead the girls program is beyond exciting! I can’t wait to see how this next chapter in the storied history of Lake Forest Wrestling plays out!

History was made today!!! Girls wrestling is the fastest growing sport across the country and today 7 young ladies wrestled in the first ever TMSAA sanctioned girls wrestling sectional tournament, with two young ladies coming home in 3rd place, earning the first ever state sanctioned wrestling medals for LFMS wrestling!!! (Boys or girls!)……these young ladies have worked so hard this season and competed every chance they’ve had! Great job ladies!!!! The future of girls wrestling in black and gold is very bright!!!!!!

Great night last night for your Bruins wrestling team with a big win against Ocoee Middle. But, the highlight of the night came as our very own star, Leo Taylor, got a huge win!!!!! Leo is an amazing young man who brings so much to our team! He is a constant bright spot to everyone around him, and he is now 2-0 in his middle school wrestling career! Thank you to Ocoee Middle School wrestling for helping make this happen! We are so thankful to be a part of a sport and a wrestling community that sees the big picture of what this sport does for young men and women!
