I’ve been watching this tragedy unfold in the hill country, praying hard for everyone affected.
It’s heartbreaking.
Families went to bed Thursday night probably thinking about their plans for the Fourth of July, not knowing the pain to come.

Kids at camp went to bed, full of excitement in anticipation for the Fourth, all the holiday festivities racing through their little minds.
This catastrophe snatched them from their families and futures.
All the memories they never get to make. Their families left behind to grieve the little lives they lost. The parents who are holding onto hope that they’ll find their babies alive, fighting the voice of everyone around who assumes it’ll be recovery’s not rescues anymore.
They’ll never be the same. They will never be who they were on Thursday night when they laid down for bed.
A day that is full of celebration will forever be their nightmare.

I see you, I ache for your heart right now. I pray for peace. We are not supposed to bury our children, it’ll never be okay that they were taken, but I pray you find a path that helps you heal. I pray that your path is filled with love and compassion. You don’t have to do it alone, you can find the right community to walk through it with you and I pray that you do.

It’s almost time for our next session to start. Get your kids ready for summer in the best way possible, survival swim lessons. Most importantly it will add a vital layer of protection to their lives, it also gives them the perfect muscle memory to excel at swimming strokes when they’re older.
They will utilize these skills their entire life, set those babies up for success!

Nothing compares to witnessing first hand the kids I teach master their skills. I absolutely love and adore every single one of my swim kids. I’m so grateful their parents trusted me to teach them.
When they go from tears and fear on day one, then to having to be bribed into getting out of the pool with me my heart heals a little at a time. They make it all worth it.

Some of you know me, some of you I haven’t had the chance to meet/talk with.
Today makes six years since my sweet Kyler Ray lost his life. I’ve made it my mission in life to take the tragedy that happened May 12, 2016 and bring awareness to water safety. To educate as many people as possible on water safety. I’m never here to judge, shame or embarrass you when I make suggestions or try to show you why something is unsafe. I only want to spread the knowledge I’ve been given to everyone, I wish I would have had it six years ago. Drowning is preventable, yet it’s still the number one cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4 and second only to car accidents in children ages 4-14. Why is something so preventable, so common? I only wish I had done research, then maybe I would have learned how dangerous it was to let my son swim in arm floats or life jackets. He was never in the water without them and without me. He still found a way, in the amount of time it takes your kids to color all over the walls with permanent marker or dump the flour all over floor, is more time than it would take for a child to drown. It happens fast and it’s silent.
Please I am begging parents, get your child in survival swim lessons, get a pool fence, put alarms on your doors and never for a second think “that’ll never happen to me” drowning doesn’t discriminate.
I love you my sweet Kyler 🤍 you’d be turning 8 next month and I can only imagine how absolutely incredible you’d be 🤍
