Sunday reflection:
In wrestling, and life there are highs and lows. The state championship is the pinnacle of High School wrestling for Ohio. To make it to the tournament takes skill, toughness, and the ability to make adjustments in season. Ethan did just that. He made his first state championship. He wrestled well, but just came just short in two of his matches down in Columbus. Proud of him through it all.
As I reflect on my own career, I think about the days I competed at Ohio State. The highs and lows of chasing team championships as well as individual championships. It takes a team of men coming together with the same like mind in order to get one individual to the next level. And there are no guarantees. It is about learning, development, and moving forward. Even with some tough losses. The matches that typically stick out the most are the close ones that we come just short in.
But the key 🔑 to success is continuing to get back on the horse, and grow from it. Use some of the toughest losses as motivation to not quit, and to get back to the drawing board in order to learn. There will be more opportunities and more chances, as long as you are willing to keep working as hard as possible.
Most wrestlers don’t accomplish everything they set out to when they are younger, but they learn from each experience and use it to help them jump levels mentally, physically, and emotionally.
God is good. He has a plan for each person he creates. Trust the plan and keep doing all the right stuff each and every day!
