That’s our girl Andrea Klima!! Speedy AND smart!!

Chemical engineering alumna, Andrea Klima '24, made her mark on the local running scene in 2026, winning three major races, including the FirstEnergy Akron Marathon. A graduate of the Department of Chemical, Bimolecular, and Corrosion Engineering at The University of Akron College of Engineering and Polymer Science, Klima credits the discipline and determination she developed as a student and engineer to helping her reach the podium.

Today, Klima works as a quality control engineer at Tremco Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing while continuing to pursue her passion for running. A University of Akron Williams Honors College scholar who earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering magna cm laude, she exemplifies how the drive to succeed in the classroom can translate to success on the racecourse.

🏆 COLUMBUS MARATHON CHAMPION! 🏆

What a day. What a race. WHAT A FINISH! 🔥

A HUGE congratulations to our teammate Ashton Swinford on taking home her FIRST Columbus Marathon victory with an incredible 2:38:04 finish! 🥇

Not only did she break the tape for the win, but she also crushed her previous personal best by OVER TWO MINUTES! 💪 Months of early mornings, countless miles, dedication, and hard work all came together for this moment.
We couldn’t be more proud to call her our teammate. Congratulations queen! 🎉👏

THANK YOU Akron Marathon!!! CLE Racing showed up strong on this beautiful fall day!

The headliner: Andrea Klima DOMINATED the Akron Marathon in 🔥2:42:06!!! 🔥 This is bonkers on this hilly course!! She is unbelievable and big things are coming in her future so stay tuned! 👀

In the half marathon, Ashton Swinford won in 1:17:22! Jennifer Simmerman ran ANOTHER PR for 6th female/3rd Master in 1:21:11! Tori Reeves was 8th in 1:23:51. Lauren Romanini Sajovie PR’d and was 4th Master in 1:28:11

What better way to spend a warm, humid morning than to race a long distance race? 😶‍🌫️ Despite challenging conditions, CLE Racing showed up and persisted at River Run Half!

CLE Racer Tracy Tungac is putting on this racing event on Sept 26 to benefit the American Cancer Society! Come run the race (or volunteer!) and stay for the family fun lasting the rest of the afternoon!

Emily Ambrose comin’ in hot with a WIN 🥇at the Rock Hall Half Marathon today with a time of 1:23:15! It was a pleasantly cool and windy morning for a summer race ☀️

Emily Ambrose is a MILER in addition to being a seasoned marathoner!! At the Guardian Mile, she ran a 5:05 mile, placing her 4th female in the open division of this very competitive race! This was more than a 20 second PR from when she ran the mile in high school. She continues to prove that it’s possible to become faster as a parent with a full-time job!

Newest CLE Racer Katie Humphries won the Hofbrauhaus 10K in 38:37! She was the first place 🥇 female and third place 🥉 overall! She was going so fast the race photographer barely got a photo of her in frame! 😂

Come join us the morning after The Guardian Mile for Run with the Pros presented by Skechers!! This community event starts at 9 am on Sunday August 9th @ Merwin’s Wharf. We will run to Edgewater and back, but it is easy to add or reduce the distance to get your desired distance for the morning. All abilities are welcome! A light breakfast is provided afterwards. We would love to meet you, as well as spend time with some of the best runners in the country!
