Here’s the catch most people miss. Chatbots are trained to keep you engaged, and the easiest way to do that is to agree with you. A study published in Science this year found that across 11 leading AI models, they sided with users about 49% more often than actual people did.

For looking up a fact, that’s fine. For a decision that reshapes your life? An advisor who always agrees with you isn’t an advisor. It’s a mirror that learned to smile back.

The pressure landing on Gen X right now: Embrace AI or get quietly pushed aside?

Here’s the catch — you’re at your peak earning years, often the most senior (and most expensive) person in the room, and layoffs tend to find those people first. But you can’t just retire your way out of it. There’s too much runway ahead, and too many people counting on you.

Demand for memory and storage chips has surged so sharply that prices are climbing on everything from laptops to phones to cars. Apple‘s Tim Cook said it is unlike anything he'd seen in over 40 years. Your paycheck is fixed. The cost of living isn't.

So it's worth asking a different question. Not "how do I survive the next wave?" but "how do I build something I actually steer?"
