2 days of absolutely incredible tidying for Don Turner and the boys! They were up a few weeks ago fishing with myself and Chad Maynard at Hammer-N-Hook Sportfishing and they are back again for 4 more days! I hosted them first this time and Chad will take over tomorrow!

The fish are still in pretty close to shore which is good, but, the short fish (or fish under 15” that are not legal to keep) have also been a pain lately. The last 2 days we have pulled at least a dozen each trip to get our 30 keeps. Although we often bitch about the extra work, it’s a great sign of a healthy lake and an even better future!

Tru Trip 40s and shallow sticks have been the workhorse with a few spoons mixed in. Water depth is anywhere from 45-65’ right now.

At 930 with 30 keepers. Big Fish Tuff Tru Trip 40s 120-180 back with shallow stick baits. Great action!

Late post but trip #2 was just as good today for this 2 person group in town from Oklahoma. We pointed it northwest towards the same area this morning and came in real heavy on the tru trip 40 and shallow stickbait program targeting 50’ down over 68’ of water. The results speak for themselves. Another damn good board of fish in minimal time.

Back at it tomorrow morning for another double charter. What a fishery!!

Before I post today’s trip:

I HAVE THIS COMING SUNDAY, JUNE 14th OPEN FOR A WALLEYE CHARTER OUT OF ASHTABULA OHIO- let’s go fishing!!!!

The weather forecast has been driving us all nuts with today’s hit or miss winds. Last night it was looking horrible. My guys were leaving at 3am to make their drive up so I was up early and thought we may be able to pull it off with a slight window first thing- WE DID! She got a bit nautical but I opted to run west on a flat lake this morning and work towards home since I knew the big west winds were coming. We ended up about 1.5 miles outside the harbor with 27 walleye and made the 930am bridge in!

Late start for my group today to
Accommodate their 3.5 hour drive and it really didn’t matter, we worked our way to a 24 fish limit around the same area we been. Still spotty action but it’s good enough to keep you busy. Tru trip 40s with little spoons were best again today, 100-140 back. Dipsy 1 setting at 70 pulled its weight as well!

I have some upcoming weekday availability this week if anyone is looking! Let’s go fill the freezer and enjoy a gorgeous lake forecast all week!
