It is easy to see why Clermont is known as the World Triathlon Destination. Clermont's very first triathlon, The Great Clermont Triathlon, took place in 1984, and since then more than 250 individual triathlons have been staged along the shores of Lake Minneola. Over the past 38 years, tens of thousands of athletes, aged 5 to 92, have participated in the Clermont Triathlons, with athletes travelling from all 50 states and more than 40 countries to compete. The sport is still going strong here with 13 triathlons on the Clermont event schedule for 2022, three of which are for kids only.
