Each sprint features a 0.25-mile swim, 8.2-mile bike, and 2-mile run. Stack them together and you’ll conquer a total of 0.75 miles in the water, 24.6 miles on the bike, and 6 miles on the run — all in a single epic effort.

New for 2025 is the new GFT Triple Triathlon Challenge where athletes will race three consecutive Sprint Triathlons, non-stop. Each individual Sprint Triathlon will have a distance of a .25 Swim, 8.2 mile Bike, and 2 mile Run, for a total distance of .75 mile Swim, 24.6 mile Bike, and 6 mile Run. Additional events include the GFT Sprint Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike, Relay, Aquathlon, and a 5K run. The GFT Endurance Festival also serves as the championship event for the 2025 Clermont Running & Triathlon Series! This is Clermont's final triathlon of the year and an event you do not want to miss! * Important Race Cancellation Notice *

Just over a day ago Hurricane Milton crossed the Florida Peninsula resulting in a substantial impact on the Gulf Coast and all of Central Florida. The Clermont area was hit hard with high winds and more than 12 inches of rain in a 24-hour period causing flooding, power outages, and downed trees throughout the area including parts of the course.

Based on the significant local impact of the storm, Sommer Sports and the City of Clermont have mutually agreed that it is necessary to cancel the upcoming 2024 Great Floridian Multisport Festival scheduled for October 19-20, 2024. The event will not be rescheduled in 2024. All athletes will be contacted via email on Tuesday, October 15, with several future race options to select from.

We realize how important this race is to you and understand the disappointment that this may cause. The health and safety of our athletes, volunteers, staff and community is our utmost priority and will always be our top priority in any decision we make.

Thanks for your understanding during this challenging time.

We hope everyone is safe following Hurricane Milton. We are currently evaluating the impact of the storm as it relates to next week's Great Floridian Triathlon. A large portion of the Clermont area is still without power, debris need to be cleared from local roads and sections of the South Lake Trail are underwater. We will be in contact with city and county officials tomorrow to review options and plan to release an official update on the race Friday afternoon.
