For those who don't know, I am a twin. My twin brother Troy is autistic, blind, and profoundly mentally handicapped.

But he is the happiest and healthiest bundle of life that I know.

That is why I partnered with Autism Speaks to be my charity of choice to raise funds and awareness for better resources and teachings for those with autism. The spectrum is so broad, and many wonderful people with autism have proven time and time again that being autistic doesn't mean having limitations.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 36 children and 1 in 45 adults in the United States today.

Katelin is an RN-BSN nurse with more than 10 years of critical care experience. She likes to balance out the stress of the hospital by working with athletes to help them perform their best. She has trained and competed in a bunch of different sports and has loved learning from each discipline. When she's not working or in the gym, she likes to work on her farm with her husband.
