Let's get this party started! Today is the first day of this epic event. Optimist dinghy's, support boats, sailors and families were already arriving yesterday and getting ready. Many more will be arriving today with RWB racing scheduled to start at 5 pm this afternoon.

Our Friday afternoon Opti Racers Series class will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 tomorrow, July 10, and afterwards we'll be hosting an Opti Fleet Party at the end of class from 3:30 to 4:30 with ice cream! (Rain date: July 17)

Opti Fleet shirts will be available for purchase. Parents are encouraged to join us to learn about the ILYA Dinghy Week on Clear Lake with Opti Champs kicking things off from July 24-26 We'll cover registration, race details and what's required.

Only 16 days until we host one of this summer's premier regattas in the upper midwest! We are expecting 240 boats spread over 3 separate events, 1,000 visitors, perfect racing conditions and lots of smiles. The schedule is as follows: Optimist Dinghy 7/24-7/26, X Boat 7/27-7/29, M15 7/30-8/1. The Optimist Dinghy and X boat will feature youth between the ages of 7 and 16 years of age while the M15 has a large contingent of youth and young adult sailors but open to all ages.

There’s nothing better than being asked to talk to community members about our sailing programs. These types of opportunities allow us to share our story and our part within our special community.

At our meeting this week we welcomed Sophia Ollenburg and Danny Starbeck from the Clear Lake Sailing Center for an informative program about their mission, programs, and the many opportunities they provide for sailors of all ages and skill levels.

Located right here in Clear Lake, the Sailing Center helps inspire a love of sailing through hands-on education, safety-focused instruction, and a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced sailors alike. Their programs help participants build confidence, develop new skills, and enjoy time on the water.

The Sailing Center offers a variety of opportunities, including morning sailing school for youth, racing classes, adult sailing classes, youth race series, and regatta opportunities throughout the summer.

Thank you to the Clear Lake Sailing Center for sharing more about the great work they are doing to promote sailing, water safety, and community connection on Clear Lake!

In a winner take all battle, the 2026 edition of the annual CLYC Dad/Lad/Mom/Lass race came down to the wire. In a dying breeze and bragging rights on the line, Jesse and Brynn Tidrick came across the finish line just ahead of Jason and Wes Gordon. Final Results:
