A matched set of custom spinning rods going out to a new client…. 6’-6” with RECoils and 7’-0” with Fuji Titanium SiCs, both in medium-lights.

The client also purchased two demo casting rods at 6’-6” and 7’-0” in medium-light.

Several folks have asked for pricing on simple builds lately. Simple? Cross-cut EVA and Fuji Prisma thread can add some flare to a “simple build “on a high-modulus blank to cut weight. We cut 0.80 ounces of weight off a standard 6’-6” medium power wading rod with a few small changes, but still kept some custom appeal. Matched with the new Metanium DC, this customer has a 10 oz. wading rig just in time for big trout...

The best part about being a rod builder is that you get a new rod when you want it and exactly how you want it.

I tracked down an old “gently used” Curado E7. I had one years ago and foolishly sold it to a fishing buddy at the time. This reel deserved something special, so I spec’d out a rod similar to the old American Rodsmith’s Troutmaster Lite I had it paired to.

The rubberized grips are new to me. We’ll see how they fair this winter.

A little Texas-style custom for a Texas volunteer firefighter. He doesn’t do it because he gets paid to; he does it because he cares.

7’-0” medium-light for plastics and tops, RECoil guides, and custom oversized grips and slightly longer handle for this mountain of a man, because we adapt the build to the client’s needs. The captured flame wrap ties this one together perfectly.
