We see continued improvement in availability of ammo, bullets and powders in the first quarter of 2022. Primers will take longer, hopefully becoming more available by the 3rd or 4th quarter.
Currently IN STOCK:
-22LR, 22 Mag, 17 HMR & others rimfire ammo
-9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, target and defensive ammo
-223 Rem/5.56 ammo, including case lots
-308 Win/7.62x51 ammo, including case lots
-270 Win, 300 AAC, 30-06, 30-30, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R +
many more rifle and handgun ammo choices in stock.

We currently have about 60 of the 180 powders we try to stock, with selection improving, or at least changing, almost every week.

If we do not currently have what you need, we are happy to take your name and number and give you a call when that product shows up, excepting primers. As primers come in, we sell them first-come, first-serve, with limit of 1 brick (1000 primers). We do not receive/sell primers on any particular day or time - we sell them as they come in, which is irregular.

Ammo & Reloading Update, August 2021: We can report continued improvement in our stocks and selection of powders, bullets, reloading equipment, brass, and some ammo choices. One by one, supply is catching up in various shooting sports categories.

We still have a ways to go with many ammo choices and primers. Although the industry is producing record amounts of ammunition, demand still exceeds supply for the most popular handgun calibers such as 380 ACP, 9mm Luger, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. Hunting ammo choices are in short supply and will continue short through the season - as product arrives on store shelves it is still selling quickly.

Primer supply is slightly improved from 2 months ago, but still only a fraction of demand... ammunition manufacturers have been successful in diverting supplies that might normally be available to reloading retailers. After ammo demand peaks in the coming weeks approaching hunting season, we expect continued gradual improvement in primer supply in the Fall and Winter.

As of today, May 14, 2021, Three Forks Ammo & Reloading no longer requires face masks in the store, with proof of covid-19 vaccination. If you wish to enter the store without a mask, please show your vaccine card (or photo of your card on your phone) at the door.
We continue to require face masks for everyone else over 5 years of age, and we continue to offer free face masks at the front door.
All Three Forks employees are now fully vaccinated, however we will continue to wear masks when non-vaccinated patrons are in the store.
Also as of today Three Forks is pleased to again offer the restroom to our patrons, and we are increasing store capacity to 3 customers (4 if at least 2 are together).

Reloading and Ammo update, April 8, 2021: Since March, 2020 demand has exceeded supply throughout the US. The shooting sports industry is unable to keep up with extraordinary demand for ammunition and ammo components, although production has increased more than 200% since Feb. 2020.
In addition to manufacturers increasing production as much as possible, ammunition and component distributors have also responded by allocating/limiting shipments to their regular/preferred retailers, and increasing prices.

We are asked often when we think the situation will settle down and availability will improve again. We honestly don't know, but we know the shooting sports industry has always been a roller coaster ride.

Current limits at Three Forks-
AMMO - Limiting 100 rds or 2 boxes per purchase most handgun, rifle and shotshell calibers, as available. Rimfire limited to one brick (usually 500 rds) per purchase, as available.
PRIMERS - We are receiving shipments and seeing improved availability over the last few months, but they sell out quickly. Limit 1 brick (1000 primers) per purchase as available.
POWDERS - Currently limiting 2 LBS, or 1 Keg (4,5,8 LB) per purchase, as available. Availability for powders has worsened so far in 2021 as ammo makers have been more successful diverting supplies to their favor.

Status update-
BULLETS - Improved availability in recent weeks and we are beginning to rebuild stock and selection.
RELOADING EQUIPMENT - Generally improved availability of presses, dies and other equipment in 2021 from Hornady and RCBS, but worsening availability so far this year from Dillon.
MUZZLELOADING - Seasonally building supplies and currently doing pretty good with selection and stock.

Just in time for Christmas we've added a fantastic selection of break action air rifles, break action air pistols, all the classic multi-pump BB guns, CO2 powered air pistols and rifles, and vintage replica BB gun models.
From Umarex we have FULLY AUTO BB replica true weight and feel Tommy Guns and German MP's, as well as the C**t Peacemaker BB revolver and the cowboy lever BB rifle.
All the Classics from Daisy, including the Red Ryder. Pellet airguns from Gamo, Umarex, Crosman, R***r, Benjamin, Re*****on, Browning and Daisy in stock including .177c, 22c and 25c models. And we have the ammo for these guns IN STOCK - lots of BB and pellet choices, as well as CO2 cartridges and small caliber cleaning supplies.

We are lining up more primers which will be arriving at the store in late Sept and on into October. Handgun bulk bullet choices are mostly in stock, 30c bulk bullets on the way.
Powder selection is still very good at Three Forks, but stock has been worked down. We are ordering more kegs.

223/5.56, 9mm Luger, 380 Auto, 40 S&W and 45 ACP are still short relative to demand. We are able to offer these calibers for a few days each week as product comes into the store, with limited purchase usually 100-200 rounds per customer. We are doing better with 38 Special and other revolver calibers.

Primers, ammo, bullets update:
-New stocks of primers will be arriving at the store during the last 2 weeks of September: Federal SR in stock by Sept. 27, Wi******er SP by Sept. 23, and Wi******er LP by Sept. 30. For now primer sales are limited to one brick (1000) each size per customer.
-Demand still exceeds supply for many types of ammunition. Currently in stock: 9mm Luger (100 rd limit), 38 Special (100 rd limit), 10mm Auto, 41 Mag, 44 Special, 44 Mag, 45 C**t and all the larger handgun calibers 454 to 500 + many others. We do not currently have 380 Auto, 40 S&W or 45 ACP, but more product on the way.
300 AAC (limit 120 rds), 308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, and most hunting calibers are in stock. We are currently out of 223/5.56.
-12ga and 20ga Defensive and Buckshot are in stock.
The rimfire selection is thinning down - we still have all calibers covered, but not all the choices.
-New stocks of bulk handgun bullets have just arrived:
Hornady 9mm - both 115gr FMJ and 125gr HAP
Prvi 10mm (40S&W) - 165gr
Prvi 45 ACP - both 185gr SJHP and 230gr FMJ

Powders, Muzzleloading, Bowhunting, General Supply Update-

H1000 (1LB), Varget (1LB), Reloader 26 (1LB & 8 LB), H4350 (1LB) and 180 other powders IN STOCK. We've been working on lining up some great powder orders which just arrived!

We have seasonally stocked up and currently offer a nice selection of our favorite muzzleloaders - including:

We've also seasonally restocked our archery section with a selection of arrows, broadheads, targets, sights, arrow rests, releases, and many more bowhunting accessories.

General Update- Demand continues to exceed supply in many categories, including most semi-auto handgun cartridges (especially 9mm Luger) as well as 223/5.56 and 300 AAC. Primers are scarce. Small pistol and small rifle primers are being sucked up by the ammo manufacturers- very few are making it into the retail reloading market for the time being.
Ammo manufacturers have a lot of capacity to increase production of centerfire. But component production (primers, powders, brass) is at capacity and cannot readily be increased, so ammo makers are in a frenzy trying to buy more component.
Rimfire was already being produced near capacity.
