It’s crazy how things come full circle…
I dang sure have been blessed over the years. Racing gave me some of the best memories of my life. I got to win a lot of races, compete against some of the best, travel a lot of miles, and meet a whole lot of good people along the way. There were plenty of long nights in the shop, early mornings headed to the track, busted knuckles, broken parts, wins, losses, and memories that I’ll carry with me forever.
Back then, I never really thought about the day when I’d be standing on the other side of it all, getting a machine ready for my own son.
Now here we are…
In less than a month, Curtis Dixon will line up and take the green flag for his very first race .
I don’t know who’s more excited, him or me!
He may absolutely love it, or he may race one time and decide it’s not for him. Either way, that’s okay. What means the most to me is that he gets the opportunity to try it, make his own memories, and hopefully experience some of the same things that made racing such a special part of my life.
I’ve already had more than my share of laps, checkered flags, and memories…but I have a feeling watching my boy take that first green flag is going to hit a little different.
From being the kid lining up to race, to being the dad standing there watching his son do it…
Man, life really does come full circle.
And who knows…watching him out there might just light that fire again. Ole Dad might have to dust off the gear and come out of retirement! 🤣 (Don’t tell Savannah)
The Dixon boys lining up together someday? Never say never!
