Many of us here at Claycomo Shooters are current or previous law enforcement, and the ones that are not are just as dedicated.
The tragedy yesterday in southern Missouri is devastating, not just because we are pro law enforcement but for everyone involved including the people of our communities in southern Missouri and here at home.
Every day, your local law enforcement does what most do not want or cannot do. Most of the time we do not dwell on not returning home. However, it is in the back of our mind. Did you know that LEO's are killed all the time? You just don't hear about it on regular news. You have to seek out the info. It's scary...
I believe everyone has a responsibility to protect our communities by being observant, willing to call 911, being a good witness, procuring fi****ms legally and safely with training in order to protect everyone, and as a last resort, stepping in to try to do what is right. It takes a village...
These two Deputies were doing their part. Let me remind you there is evil and wrong hiding in every community, and someone has to take care of this. It's very important to support your LEO's. Every agency is down on manpower and finding it very difficult to acquire new applicants. Can you imagine if there were even less LEO's? Can you imagine calling the police and they eventually show up at best? Well, that is already happening in some cities, and I won't mention the name right here where we sleep.
Hang in there everyone. Do what is right. Support what is right and lastly, let's not forget about all the human beings that are our fellow brothers and sisters no matter who they are or where they come from. The divide in this country is at an all-time high.
But wait, I think most people are good, and I see them every day in our communities. People still say thank you around here. They will still hold the door most of the time. Most people wave with all their fingers, and sometimes not, but that is only "sometimes". I still hear "Thank you" regularly in any setting.
God bless these two Deputies and their families. It is times like this that it gives us an opportunity to reflect on ourselves, others and our communities.
