A few months ago, two of our employees (Rob Block & Chris Lein) were on duty working the store. A female customer arrived and was shopping for a firearm. Her behavior sparked their attention. Shortly thereafter, they declined to continue her shopping and politely ask her to leave. After her departure, Lein performed some intel sharing with the appropriate entity. Subsequently, a few days later this same person murdered another by knife in the Northland.
While this story is tragic and sad it does give us the opportunity to talk about our procedures and the great people we have working here.
Our procedure, policy and stance with firearm sales is direct and strict. We give all of our employees the power to decline sales, especially when indicators are present. This is not the first time we have declined a sale. It's one of the many. It is our position to never put a firearm in the wrong hands. Our employees are current and former law enforcement as well as military. Public safety is still on their mind, at all times.
We congratulate their above average observation skills and actions that contributed to upholding safety procedures at Claycomo Shooters. We applaud their dedication to the safety of our community and beyond. If you are in the store, say hi to these fellas and know that they have all of our backs. Thank you Rob and Chris!
