Big Oaks ASA Archery Club Big Oaks Archery Club is part of the Archery Shooters Association, hq'ed in Georgia. ASA national standards for dress, conduct & safety are enforced.

We are a 3D archery club, using a variety of McKenzie 3D foam animal targets. We are a member of the national Archery Shooters Association, headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia. There are tens of thousands of amateur and professional archers from across the United States in national and state level 3-D ASA competitions. The state level organization is known as the ASA Federation, while the national

level is the McKenzie ASA Pro/Am Tour. The Federation has chapters in 30 states with over 7,000 members and 300 clubs. Features that distinguish ASA competitions include standardized competition rules; professionally executed shooting ranges; high standards for dress and conduct; safety standards that include a maximum arrow speed standard; the copyrighted 12-ring and 14-ring scoring system. Our ASA 3-D archery range features competitive rounds of 30 lifelike, three-dimensional animal targets made of foam. The scoring rings are not visible from the shooting stake and binoculars are allowed. Advanced archers must determine the distance to the target, pick a good aiming point, and execute the shot. The ASA was the first archery organization to implement a speed limit for safety and to establish a level playing field for 3-D competition. Beginning in 2007, the ASA was the first national organization to incorporate known distance competition to provide competitors with another option for competing in 3-D archery.

Get ready for our second DUAL STATE QUALIFIER……next Saturday- - May 2! Once again, we’ll be opening up our range to anyone that wants/needs to QUALIFY for this year’s VIRGINIA ASA STATE COMPETITION (which we’ll be held at our club) or the NORTH CAROLINA ASA STATE COMPETITION (will be held in Cherryville, NC).

Not qualifying? That’s ok too! Come out for the FUN

Boy!! You just couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to go tromping through the woods with a bow😊 Temperatures were great and the sunshine was perfect. Great scores everyone and congrats to all of the qualifiers. How about this??? We’ll do it all over again on May 2. Enjoy some pics from the day. Oh, darn!! We mentioned the word ‘shoot’ in our ASA Qualifier flyer so this is what we get for that……. Do the people that monitor our posts have any idea exactly what we’re talking about?!? Do they understand that this is a competitive sport? Do they even ask themselves about our sport? Nope! So…we’re no longer being recommended😢😢

Novelty Shoot is $10/3 arrows with KNOWN yardage….$100 cash prize for closest to the bullseye.

Sign in goes from 8-1. This will be a Fun Shoot as well as our first CCAA Point Shoot. Weather should be beautiful so come on out.

We’ll have fresh smoked Pork BBQ for lunch🤤😋
