๐ THE WILD CARD LIVES UP TO HIS NAME AT THE LABOR DAY BASH! ๐
What a roller coaster, emotional, and absolutely incredible weekend of racing at Lincoln Trail Motosports ! Our boy gave it everything he had, and we couldnโt possibly be more proud of his heart and determination. โค๏ธ๐
Here is how the weekend broke down:
๐ 65cc Junior (7-9) Class โ 1st PLACE OVERALL! ๐ฅ
The Wild Card truly lived up to his nickname here! In Moto 1, he rode like an absolute beast and locked down a solid 2nd place. The speed and skill he showed all weekend had other parents coming up to us praising how much he has leveled upโand they weren't wrong!
In Moto 2, he didn't get the holeshot, but he put his head down, worked his way through the pack into 1st, and pulled away to hold a massive lead all the way to the checkered flag! Taking a 1st place overall at Lincoln Trail against this level of talent is something we never thought weโd see. It was a massive, emotional moment for our family! ๐ญ๐ altho we have bins full of first place trophies, this one meant a lot ๐ค
๐ 65cc Open Class โ The Heart of a Fighter ๐ช
Moto 1 started with a tough break out of the gate. He fought his way all the way up to 7th, but the exhaustion was real after coming straight off the track from racing his 85 for the first time.
Moto 2 was an absolute masterclass... until heartbreak struck. He was absolutely ripping, chasing down a pack of three riders ahead of him. He went to pass all three of them in a single turn to put himself in line for a top 5 overall finish when the clutch completely went with a lap and a half to go. Halfway through the last lap, the bike stopped pulling altogether. He literally had to coast and push his bike across the finish line just to get off the track. He got passed by a few guys right at the end because of it, but still salvaged a 9th place overall. Mechanicals happen, but his grit to finish was unmatched!
๐ 85cc Class โ Debuting on the Big Bike! ๐๏ธ๐ฅ
He finally stepped up to the 85, and even though the bike is definitely still a bit too big for him, he held his own on a high-caliber track! Moto 1 was a damn good 16th place finish.
In Moto 2, he got caught up in a chaotic holeshot tangle with another rider. After waiting for the track workers to get them unstuck, he got back on the gas and passed about 5 riders to finish around 22nd or 23rd overall. All in all, it was one hell of a weekend of racing. High highs, a few unpredictable lows, but 100% effort from the Wild Card. Thank you to everyone who cheered him on! We are so happy, so proud, and ready for the next one! ๐๐
