🤖 Building, Coding & Creating!

Our High School Engineering Foundations students finished assembling the practice perimeter for the 2026–2027 VEX V5 game, Override! Students are getting hands-on experience with the competition field as they prepare to design, build, program, and test their robots for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, our Middle School students are mixing music and coding with Mix & Move with AI on Code.org! 🎶💻 Through block-based coding, students are learning how to sequence commands, use patterns and logic, and create programs that combine music, movement, and technology.

It’s exciting to see our students learning through hands-on experiences — from building robots and engineering solutions to creating music with code! 🚀🐯

A huge thank you to Angela Thrower from Carter BloodCare for visiting CMHS to present our school with the 2026 Impact Award for exceeding our blood donation collection goal during the 2025–2026 school year!

Angela also presented a $500 check to the CMHS National Honor Society to support NHS club activities. Accepting the check on behalf of NHS were our officers: Yahairi Chavez, Secretary; Christopher Pittman, President; and Madalynn Early, Treasurer.

This award recognizes the incredible support of our students, staff, and community members who donated blood and helped make our blood drives a success. Every donation makes a difference, and we are so grateful to everyone who took the time to give.

On behalf of Clarksville Robotics, we would like to extend a huge thank you to Preston and The Tiger’s Den for their generous donation of headphones!

Because of their support, we now have enough headphones to fully equip both our middle school and high school robotics labs, with additional sets available as replacements when needed. Donations like this help provide our students with the tools they need to learn, create, and succeed.

We truly appreciate The Tiger Den’s investment in our students and our robotics program. Thank you for making a difference! 🐅🤖

🚀 We’re excited to offer our Engineering Foundations pathway again this upcoming school year! 🤖⚙️

Students grades 7th-12th in this program gain hands-on experience through Principles of Applied Engineering, Robotics I, Robotics II, and the Career & Technical Education Project-Based Capstone while developing real-world engineering and problem-solving skills.

Even better, students have the opportunity to earn the NOCTI Engineering Technology Foundations Industry-Based Certification (IBC)—an industry-recognized credential that helps prepare them for college, technical training, and careers in engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Our 2026 Summer GT Academy students spent June 2–23 exploring their interests through the Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) Pursuit of Passion. Throughout the academy, students researched topics they were passionate about, learned about the value of qualitative research, conducted interviews with individuals connected to their areas of interest to develop creative products to showcase their learning. The academy concluded with student presentations highlighting their research findings and passion projects. We are proud to share a collection of their work, which can be viewed here.

Today, GT students from Clarksville Middle High School and Cheatham Elementary enjoyed an educational field trip to the planetarium at East Texas A&M University. Students learned about black holes, the universe, and the fascinating mysteries of space. It was a fun and engaging opportunity to extend learning beyond the classroom. We were so busy exploring the wonders of the cosmos that we forgot to take a group picture!

Today, CMHS GT Summer Academy students had the opportunity to step outside the classroom and learn directly from members of our community as part of their Pursuit of Passion projects.

Students also went inside the Clarksville Courthouse for their first time and had the unique experience of riding, what may be, the only public elevator in Clarksville.

🤖🎓 Clarksville Robotics would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Perry Moler at East Texas A&M University for taking the time to give our CMHS GT and Robotics Summer Academy students a tour of the university and the Engineering & Technology Department.

During the visit, students learned about collegiate robotics opportunities, including the VEX U competition, and had the opportunity to learn about the 2026–2027 VEX Robotics Competition game, “Override.”

We are grateful for Dr. Moler’s time and willingness to share his knowledge and experience with our students. Opportunities like these help inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers.

Our summer GT students are beginning an exciting research project called Pursuit of Passion, where they are exploring the connection between personal interests and future careers.

To help bring their learning to life, we are looking for individuals who would be willing to participate in a short 10-question interview about their profession. Interviews can be conducted in person, virtually, or through email—whatever is most convenient!

We are currently seeking volunteers in the following fields:

⭐ Mental Health
⭐ Engineering
⭐ Enterprise/Entrepreneurship
⭐ Visual Arts
⭐ Animal Health & Behaviors
