At last night’s School Board meeting, Scott Gower was officially introduced as the new Athletic Director for the Abington Heights School District.

A proud member of the Abington Heights community, Gower brings extensive experience in athletic administration, having previously served as Athletic Director at Scranton Prep and Keystone College.

Please join us in welcoming Scott Gower to the Comets family!

On Tuesday, July 14th, Enrico Mastroianni’s tenure as Abington Heights Athletic Director came to an end.

Enrico served as the Athletic Director at Abington Heights for four years before taking the role of Director of Athletics and Recreation at Penn State Scranton.

As we step into a new era, we would like to extend our deepest thanks to Mastroianni for all the support he provided for our student-athletes, coaches, and community.

FROM ABINGTON HEIGHTS TO THE MLB:

Abington Heights Baseball alum and 2023 graduate, Conner Griffin was picked 302nd overall in the tenth round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.

Conner spent three seasons playing Division 1 at Binghamton after leaving Abington Heights.

🏆 CELEBRATING A YEAR OF EXCELLENCE

Last evening, Thursday, June 25, several Abington Heights student-athletes were recognized at the 76th Annual Times-Tribune Athlete of the Week Awards Ceremony at Lackawanna College, celebrating an outstanding year of athletic achievement.

The annual event honored the top high school athletes from across Northeastern Pennsylvania, recognizing the season's 43 Athlete of the Week recipients and 25 All-Region Performers of the Year before announcing the Times-Tribune Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Abington Heights proudly led the region with seven Athlete of the Week honorees and seven All-Region Performers of the Year, a testament to the dedication, talent, and commitment of our student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs throughout the 2025-26 school year.
