The Claremont Colleges Rugby Football Club has a long and storied history. Cal Invitational versus Cal, Army, UCLA. Televised on PAC 12 Network.

While the mascot and color scheme have changed several times, the program's on-field sucess and focus on developing outstanding young men and ruggers remains a constant. Mission Statement: Our performance embodies the respect we have for our program, our opponents, and most importantly the global sport of Rugby, and all that embrace it! THE LIONS RETURN!!

The first official practices for the Lions upcoming season start this Tuesday from 5-7pm at Biszants field over by the CMC tennis courts and will repeat every Tuesday and Wednesday. No experience is required so come on out and join the Lions for this exciting season

⭐️PLAYER SPOTLIGHT⭐️: Kevin Bender & Kevin Winschel

It must be a Kevin kind of day as our player spotlights today go to none other than the two Kevins on the team. Although they share the same name, they both make massively different impacts on the pitch.

Bender, the man with a hidden engine, as he always finds a way to get a line break. Often times presenting an insane amount of pace at points, while also packing quite the punch when he carries.The speedy yet powerful hook is not one to underestimate on the pitch

Kev^2 on the other hand is all about speed. He joined the Lions this last year and made a huge impact during the 7s season with his insane speed and going into the XV’s season as a starting winger. A defensive monster on the edge as it is a challenge to try and get past him.

⭐️PLAYER SPOTLIGHT⭐️: Eli Housenbold & Timeo Coletta

Introducing your Lions president & vice president Eli Housebold and Timeo Coletta. These two will be guiding the team throughout the season as we move from sevens in the fall to XV’s in the Spring.

Eli assists in the forward pack primarily playing lock while sometimes going on the flank. With his hard carries and tackles, he’s an important part of the Lions forward pack.

Timeo assists in the Lions backfield whether it’d be as a winger or as a fullback. His pace and speed makes him a threat in open space and it’ll be hard to even catch the man.

We’re excited to see what these two show us during the fall sevens season and the XV’s season in the spring. As they’ll be the ones leading the charge and helping organize everything

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: ⭐️Eddie McKinnie⭐️

One of the newest players to the Lions, Eddie joined the team and is constantly looking to improve no matter what. It has been proven match after match as he progressed throughout his first season as a Lion. He plays his heart out whenever he steps onto the pitch.

With the upcoming sevens season on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what Eddie brings to the table with his powerful carries and speed on the pitch.

⭐️PLAYER SPOTLIGHT⭐️: Tanner Holland

Tanner has played a crucial role in building the Lions backline this past year, leading the charge and setting up the backline for success. Don’t underestimate him just because he’s a flyhalf, if he decides to carry the ball your ankles just might be in danger.

Although Tanner also wont be here for the upcoming sevens season this fall, we’re more than excited to see him back during Spring XV’s. Leading the charge once again with his IQ, pace, and footwork to set up attack and continue to put the backline together.

⭐️PLAYER SPOTLIGHT⭐️: Fred Zeng

Fred is one of the most prominent members of the Lions whether it’s during games or even outside of rugby. Fred brings speed, pace, and flashiness to the team when he’s out there scoring multiple tries.

Although he’s going abroad this semester, he’s still a key part of the Lions and we can’t wait to see Fred on the pitch during XV’s in the Spring

Looking for fast paced action, great time on the field, and endless memories with teammates, then this is the team for you. Doesnt matter if you’re new to the sport, a seasoned player, or looking for something new to join, you’re always welcome to join the team.

Practices will usually be held on Biszantz Field(by CMS Tennis Courts) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm-7pm
