UCS - University Of Combat Sports, Carlson Gracie Claremont We first opened in 2014 now in 2021 we have a great new location with the same amazing students and We are UCS , the official Carlson Gracie Claremont.

We aim to provide consistent high level instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts. We take pride in fostering a positive environment where people of all levels can develop & grow. Whether your goals are to become a high level competitor or just have fun while getting in shape, we make sure to deliver.

This morning on my drive to work conditions were awful, it was pouring rain, freezing cold and blizzard warning all week. I turned on the gym heaters remotely so at least our place would be warm. I was very doubtful of turn out but I hate closing and I love teaching our team. To my surprise not only did people show up but everyone showed up. Not only did everyone show up but everyone was in a great mood, great energy and we had one of our best days of training yet. Jiujitsu & MMA were amazing, everyone's smiles and laughs between hard rounds was infectious. I could not be more proud of our team. Thank you all. Osss

HardWork * Dedication * Sacrifice
This is the Jiujitsu way, not convenience or comfort. The Ability to adapt, grow & persevere is required daily as those around you improve you must too. At all propel each other forward. Those who don't make time, who don't sacrifice & only want are always left behind. The mats don't lie. Beyond proud of these men & the work they put in day in day out on these mats.

Thank you. Thank you to everyone who competed, to our teammates who showed up to practice and help everyone prepare. Thank you to the all the competitors who showed up and helped hand out so many valuable lessons of will, grit & determination. Thank you to our teammates who were not competing but wanted to come support their friends. Jiujitsu isn't about winning medals, it's about testing yourself, discipline & comradery. The journey is everything.

Accountability is so important to have a strong team. Not just from our black belts but everyone to be white belts. Everyone is essential in propelling the team forward. Top to bottom, everyone is expected to be on time, to help out lower belts to do as many rounds whether they think they will win or lose. Everyone spends time as a nail, that's how you become the hammer. If you have an ego and can't hold up to that you will not have a place here. I'm proud of our team and their efforts. Oss.

I'm very fortunate to call this work. I set out a goal many years ago. Not to have the biggest gym or the most fighters or make the most money... what I wanted was simple. I wanted to look forward to going to work each and every day. I want to look forward to teaching my craft to a group of individuals that are hard working and dedicated to learning and most of all each other. I feel blessed beyond words to truly feel at that point now. Our team is not only truly talented but great individuals that I look forward to seeing day in & day out. My friends. This makes me happy. Thank you all. I will work hard to not let you all down and to surpass your expectations going forward. Osss.

Consistency is the key to success. Whether you feel like you're making strides or crawling your way forward. Make sure you are moving in the right direction. Too many people are comfortable standing still while complaining about where they should be. Get there. Start moving. Surround yourself with people that are also motivated and will help propel you forward, not anchor you down.
