Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. '

Let's vote for the person who shows Godly wisdom. It is the person with that kind of character that we need to lead this country. And heaven knows, our leaders need Godly wisdom to lead well.

One of my favorite people in the whole world, my son Sam, lives with Down Syndrome. I love this guy! He was once asked what his spiritual gifts were, he said, "joy and happiness" and it is true! He bring joy into every situation and he is constantly telling me and his mom how much he loves us and is hugging us.
How many dads have their 25 year old son greet them with a loud and hearty "dad's home" every time they pull into the garage. I am so blessed.
Sam, you are my favorite son and I love you dearly!

As leaders and humans we tend to overlook what’s in our hearts 🤎 The source of anger, frustration, jealousy, pride, greed…is all a heart issue.

Your heart is the seat of your emotions, and feelings. It’s the very center of who we are, the true you without any disguise.

We lead and love with our hearts. So invest into the area of your life that tends to get overlooked.

Do this:
1. Pray. Allow the one who designed you and knows you best. Only God can reveal the deepest darkest areas of your heart.
2. Journal. Write down what you discover about yourself. Be honest here. It’s ok to not be perfect. We are all in process to living a healthier lifestyle.
3. Talk to someone. Pull someone else in. Someone who has experience in this area. A trusted leader or pastor or friend or family member or counselor. Someone you know who will be honest and not just agree with you and share your same beliefs.
4. Do it in this order as described. Filter through your thoughts first. Don’t air everything out to others or on social media without wrestling with your emotions. That’s your responsibility.

In leadership, it is easy to focus on the unhealthy things. We allow vanity metrics to shape who we are and how we lead. The trap of comparison becomes our motivation.

Here is what I propose. Fix your thoughts on what Paul says in Philippians 4:8. He encourages his audience to think and dwell on what is true, noble, honorable, right, pure, and praiseworthy. Here and only here is where we find our true selves. We find the confidence we need to love and lead others into their purpose.
