Kendo, the way of the sword, dates back to the 17th century, developed as exercises for warriors. Using a shinai (bamboo sword), and bogu (armor), kenshi learn to use kiai (vocal spirit) to strike men (head), kote (hand), and do (body). We are largely supported by the Industry Sheriffs Youth Activities League! We are members of AUSKF (All United States Kendo Federation) and SCKF (Southern California Kendo Federation). Adults- $15 monthly dojo dues (less if more than one adult in a family). Annual AUSKF and SCKF dues is $66. Dojo will provide shinai and bokken for beginners, as well as hakama & keikogi.
