🩷🏐 BLOCKING OUT CANCER 2026 🏐🩷

Unfortunately, our annual Blocking Out Cancer Game is going to look a little different this season.

The last few years, it has become tradition for Logan Elm and Circleville to rotate hosting the Blocking Out Cancer Game when we play each other. This season was scheduled to be Circleville’s year to host, but they will be celebrating Senior Night when we travel there, so they will not be hosting the cancer game this year.

With our Braves for the Brave First Responders Night just wrapping up, the short turnaround, and the way our remaining schedule falls, we unfortunately aren't able to put together a separate home Blocking Out Cancer Game this season either.

BUT—we still wanted our girls to have the opportunity to continue a tradition that means so much to our program and community. 🩷

Thankfully, Fairfield Union has shared that our game at Fairfield Union on Thursday, September 24 will be their Volley for the Cure Game!

In support of their event—and everything the “cancer game” represents—our Lady Braves will proudly wear their 2026 Blocking Out Cancer shirts when we take the court at Fairfield Union. 🏐🎗️

Even though we won't be hosting our traditional game this year, our message remains exactly the same: NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE. ❤️

All player and coaches shirts have been completely paid for by a sponsor, so there is no cost to our athletes or coaching staff! We are incredibly thankful for the continued support that allows our girls to participate in something so meaningful.

🩷 Pink Pack Tribe

Cancer affects so many people, families, friends, teammates, and communities—and while our game may look a little different this year, the reason behind it hasn't changed.

As a community, we work together to BLOCK OUT CANCER because NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! 🎗️🏐

❤️ THANK YOU, BRAVE NATION! ❤️

At the beginning of this season, I realized our girls wouldn’t have a special “fun game” to play in this year, like the cancer game we host every other season. From that thought, the idea for Braves for the Brave First Responders Night came together in less than 24 hours—and with only three weeks to plan it, I got to work!

Last night turned out to be everything I had envisioned and so much more.

This event would not have been possible without our 20 incredible sponsors, whose generosity helped us raise more than $2,000 to make the night happen. We are also incredibly thankful for the generous donation of our entire dinner from Flyers Pizza & Subs and our desserts from Jo Strawser, which fed our players and their honored first responders before the game.

To every friend, family member and member of Brave Nation who filled the gym for only our second home game of the season—thank you. You showed up not only to cheer on our girls, but also to recognize, celebrate and support the first responders who serve our communities every day.

The continuous “thank yous” I received before leaving the gym last night meant more than I can explain. Then, to wake up this morning to text messages even from a county sheriff sharing how amazing and meaningful the event was confirmed that this night truly made an impact.

While I may have come up with the idea, Brave Nation is what brought it to life. Every sponsor, donation, volunteer, meal, decorated table, shared post, person in the stands and word of encouragement played a part in making the evening so special.

Most importantly, thank you to our first responders for allowing our girls to honor you. We hope you felt just how loved, respected and appreciated you are—not only by our volleyball program, but by our entire community.

For everyone who has already asked whether this will become a yearly event: my goal is to continue Braves for the Brave every other year, during the seasons when we do not host our cancer game. After seeing what this first event became, I am already looking forward to the next one!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, Brave Nation. You showed up, you supported us and you helped make our first Braves for the Brave night an evening we will never forget. 🏐🇺🇸

Tonight, our Lady Braves are playing for those who answer the call. ❤️🤍💙

Each of our girls chose a special first responder, healthcare worker, or veteran to honor during tonight’s First Responders Night. These incredible individuals serve, protect, care for, and sacrifice for our communities and our country—and tonight, we proudly play for them!

🇺🇸 We play for the brave.

❤️🏐 THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS! 🏐❤️

We are incredibly grateful to the 20 amazing sponsors who helped us raise more than $2,000 for our Braves for the Brave event!

Because of their generosity, we were also able to support two local businesses while preparing for this special night. A huge shoutout to Sweet T’s for making our event shirts and 740 Banner Co. for creating our Braves for the Brave banner! 👕🇺🇸

This event would not be possible without the businesses and individuals who believe in our Lady Braves and share our desire to recognize the first responders who serve, protect and care for our community each and every day.

One community coming together to honor those who answer the call. ❤️🤍💙

Join us Tuesday, September 1st at the Logan Elm vs Fairfield Union game for our First Responders game.

Are you a first responder and were asked to attend by a player? Please join us in the HS cafeteria starting at 4:30 pm for a complimentary dinner and dessert. Dinner will conclude at 5:30 at the start of the JV game.
