Member Spotlight
Meet one of our incredible members, Ken, a physical therapist, athletic trainer, and co-owner of Oxford Physical Therapy Centers here in Cincinnati.
With years of experience working with athletes, from high school to professional levels, he’s long understood the value of Pilates, but recently made the time to bring it into his own routine.
Why Pilates?
“As a physical therapist, I’ve known about Pilates for a long time and have seen the benefits firsthand, especially working with dancers and athletes. It’s an incredible tool for building strength in the upper body, lower body, and core, while also improving balance and flexibility.”
His Experience So Far
After just 4 months of practice, the results speak for themselves:
• Increased strength and flexibility
• Improved balance
• A much stronger core
• Even some unexpected changes — “my stomach is getting pretty flat” 😊
• Better rotation and performance in his golf swing
Why He Keeps Coming Back
“Pilates has become addictive. If I have to take a few days off, I really miss it. I feel so much better after a workout.”
Favorite Work
He especially enjoys the flexibility work on the reformer and rotational core exercises, noting how directly they support movement patterns like the golf swing.
Advice for Someone Thinking About Pilates
“You have to want to make the change and commit to it. I’d recommend trying it consistently for four weeks, after that, you’ll have a clear sense of the benefits and what’s next for you.”
We love having members like this in the studio, bringing both professional insight and dedication to the practice.
