I see so many people spending hours on cardio and avoiding strength training.

Because cardio feels like the easy answer.

Sweat more. Burn more calories. Lose more weight.

Simple.

But that's not how long-term fat loss works.

Anyone can walk on a treadmill for an hour.

Building strength requires patience, consistency, and progressive effort.

Cardio helps you burn calories today.

After 33 years of teaching group fitness at Beechmont Racquet & Fitness (and 38 years as part of the BRF family!), the amazing Kim Calder has decided it's time to retire.

Kim has been a huge part of our community and has inspired, motivated, encouraged, and challenged thousands of members over the years. Her passion for fitness, especially Step, has always been contagious, and her energy, kindness, and dedication have made a lasting impact on so many of us. She is more than an incredible instructor; she is a wonderful woman, wife, mother, friend, and teammate.

While we'll miss her, we're excited for her as she spends more time with her growing family and newest grandchildren!

Please join us in celebrating Kim and wishing her all the best in retirement! If youโ€™d like to wish her well in person, consider joining Kim's final class on Sunday, June 7th! She will be happy to see lots of other familiar faces, and itโ€™s sure to be a memorable one.
