Looking for help: I'm trying to decide what to do with college football for this page, not my show.

I think I'll try something like this: Four weekly posts.
1. Friday preview post of games
2. UC recap/bullet points post
3. OSU recap/bullet points post
4. Combined bullet points recap post for Miami, Ohio, UK, UL, IU, PU, Notre Dame. A line or two on each game.

These will short and to the point. Not long game summaries, or a story. Similar to my Reds recap.

I'm not a beat reporter. I'm simply trying to create CFB conversation on the page. I'll give you a couple of notes on your team, and offer a chance to talk about your team.

Thoughts?

Sal Stewart is the NL Rookie of the Month. He's the first Cincinnati Reds rookie to earn Rookie of the Month honors multiple times!

The 22-year-old hit .304 (35-for-115) with eight homers, 21 RBI, two doubles, seven walks, 21 runs scored, a .530 slugging percentage and a .349 on-base percentage in 29 games.

He finished the month of August leading all Major League hitters with 105 RBI on the season. Stewart became the third rookie in baseball history to be the first player to reach 100 RBI in a season, joining Hall of Famer Ted Williams who did so in 1939 with the Red Sox, and José Canseco who did so in 1986 with the Athletics.

Others receiving votes for NL Rookie of the Month included outfielder Carson Benge and relief pitcher Nate Lavender of the Mets; and starting pitcher Logan Henderson of the Brewers.

Stewart surpassed Jim Greengrass (100 RBI in 1953) for the most RBI in a single season by a rookie in franchise history. He put together a 10-game hitting streak and reached base safely in 27 of his 29 games during the month.

He's just the 14th rookie in MLB history to produce 30-or-more homers and 100-or-more RBI in a single season since 1920 (when RBI became official).

Stewart is on pace for 123 RBI, which would be the most by any Reds hitter since Hall of Famer Dave Parker’s 125 RBI in 1985.

His 31 homers are the second-most by a Reds’ rookie, trailing only Hall of Famer Frank Robinson’s 38 in 1956.

Additionally, Stewart is the fourth Major League rookie in the last 80 years to post four separate months with 20-or-more RBI, joining Albert Pujols (2001); Mark McGwire (1987); and Walt Dropo (1950).

On this date 2013: Billy Hamilton made his MLB debut as a pinch-runner and swiped 2nd base off Yadier Molina in the 7th inning. He would score what proved to be the winning run on a double by Todd Frazier.

What an incredibly exciting and at the same time frustrating player. He was a 2nd round pick out of HS in 2009, as a shortstop.
By 2013, he was the No. 20 prospect in baseball.

He was dynamic and game-changing. His triples were breathtaking. He'd score from 2nd on a sacrifice fly, or a wild pitch. His defense was eye-popping. Still hard to believe he never won a Gold Glove, despite being a finalist five times.

He became legendary as he climbed the minor league ladder.
103 SB in 135 games for Dayton in 2011.
155 SB n 132 games between A/AA, setting the all-time minor league record in 2012.

I remember seeing him live for the first time in 2012, when the Reds played a "Reds Futures' game at GABP before the season.

In his first four full MLB seasons, he stole 56-57-58-59 bases.

But his career BA was .239, OBP .293. If I had a dollar for everytime we said, 'you can't steal 1st base...or..."why doesn't he bunt more?"

He had 15 bunts in 2014, but only 48 in 3,285 plate appearances. He did have 39 infield hits in 2014 and 160 in his career (713 total hits).

He's played in the Mexican League the last three seasons. He played 28 games for Charros de Jalisco this season, before being released in late July. He appeared in six games at AAA for the Cubs last season. His last MLB appearance was three games with the White Sox in 2023. He's played for eight different MLB teams.

Billy turns 36 next Wednesday.
