FROM OUR BASEMENT TO A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
Man… saying that out loud still hits different.
In the same home where we were raising our family, we opened our doors and started building something with love, faith, and a purpose. People came down those basement steps to work on themselves. Along the way, we became part of each other’s lives.
That’s where the heart of Building Better Futures took shape.
Now, standing beside my wife, Shadaka, receiving this Lifetime Achievement Award… I think about every person who trusted us enough to walk through our doors.
The people who showed up carrying things nobody could see. The parents who trusted us with their babies. The kids who needed somebody to believe in them. The people who found the strength to try again—and the family who stood beside us while we kept figuring it out.
ALL OF Y’ALL ARE PART OF THIS.
To my wife: I know what you pour into our family, our children, and the families we serve. I see the work that happens when nobody is watching. From BBF Health to Building Better Futures Learning Center, I’m proud of what we’re building together. Being able to share this moment with you means everything to me.
Thank you to Steven Vaccaro and Chapters Network for this recognition. Thank you for seeing the heart behind the work and honoring something we’ve given so much of ourselves to.
And to our BBF FAMILY—look at that stadium picture. Those are relationships. Those are stories. Those are people who have helped make this journey worth every step.
Our names are on the plaque, and so many of you have a place in the story behind it.
I thank God we get to do this work. I’m grateful we get to love on our community, raise our family in this purpose, and keep building something our children can carry forward.
A Lifetime Achievement Award… and we still have so much love left to give.
