Monday stands for possibility-

↗️ turning “no” into “maybe.”

“you look like your mom!”
the store clerk shared her observation,
and we both look at each other with knowing smiles.
“I’m adopted, but we have the same hair” said my son.

The woman looked stunned, almost apologetic.

apologetic… for what?
for the incredible memories we share with each other?
for the chance to see him grow into an incredible young human, on and off stage?
for the way he brings out my inner child, teaching me how to stop taking life so seriously?
for the fact that he’s grateful that I spoil the hell out of him and that he makes my heart explode every day with joy?

my emotionally intelligent son continued with “I love my mom, and she’s the best” and squeezed me, his hair going into my face because he stands over 5 feet as a 9 year old.

I realized in that moment that my son has taken on the emotional labor of changing perception.
combatting the notion that similar appearance makes a family.
I feel sad/proud/anxious about it all,
and I’m not quite sure how he feels about it.
time will tell, but I know we both do it for others, not for ourselves.

I share this story because it happened on Nov 9th, on world adoption day, and I hope that the next generation will continue to normalize the dynamic family structure.

our blended, dynamic family is beautiful and “different,” but we wouldn’t have it any other way ✨and I hope that, for those who want to be parents or grow their family consider adoption and foster care as a path to do so.

☀️ Real talk—your glow didn’t go anywhere.
It’s just buried under burnout, bad lighting, and too many “I’ll rest later” promises.

Getting it back? It’s less about serums more about systems. (although they don’t hurt the cause, IMO 🧖‍♀️)
✨ Move your body.
✨ Drink the damn water.
✨ Laugh like you mean it.
✨ Sleep like it’s your job.
✨ Be inspired by art and beauty.

You don’t need a full reset—just a gentle re-alignment.

I used my trip to Miami as a double-hitter: work and re-alignment. It reminded me that our glow’s been waiting for us to remember what feeling good feels like.

👋 Resist the urge for URGENCY this morning.
Start with intention. Isn’t that better?☕️🐾

This morning, I’m sipping coffee next to my senior golden retriever, Mack—who’s peacefully reminding me that slow isn’t lazy, it’s wise. I’m reflecting on my past week- what went well, what brought me JOY, what I could have done better- and planning for the week ahead.

Most of us roll into Monday already sprinting—emails, kids, meetings, caffeine on repeat. But the truth? The most powerful thing you can do at the start of the week is pause.

Before diving in, try asking:
✨ What actually deserves my best energy this week?
✨ Who really needs me—my team, my family, me?
✨ And will any of this still matter 90 days from now?

You don’t need to control the chaos.
You just need to center yourself in it.
Because leadership—real leadership—starts with alignment, not adrenaline.

Here’s to a week fueled by purpose, not pressure. 🌿

I Have Cancer (Kind Of?)

Not exactly the post I thought I’d be sharing… but here we are.

After a “why not?” mammogram (and a canceled meeting that felt like divine timing), I learned I have Stage 0 DCIS — the earliest form of breast cancer. It’s non-invasive, highly treatable, and proof that preventive care saves lives. For me it’s the second time prevention has saved MY life.

Here’s the thing: I can afford my care. Many can’t.
And with recent government changes rolling back insurance coverage, millions may lose access to the very screenings that could save them.

So no, I’m not asking for thoughts and prayers — I’m asking for action.
Get the mammogram.
Call your representatives.
Protect preventive care.

Because wellness isn’t political — it’s personal.
And being human — in all its mess and magic — is the point. 💗
