Before and After.

Another tricycle in for a mini resto. All the metals were polished and the customer wanted to keep the patina so we just put a clear coat on and boom! It’s ready for a kiddo to ride now!

Exactly four weeks ago I was coming home from a camping trip in the PNW and just like that it’s OCTOBER! It feels like I just got home! Anyways, the shop is busy and the season is sort of winding down. We have many resto projects to stay busy this winter.

September was great — Finn finally finished his Berd wheel build. I visited the new bike park in Mount Airy, so cute! Dominic finished up a 1934 Taylor tricycle. More upgrades for Finn who likes to do last minute s**t to his bike before a CX race. Dominic built wheels for a vintage Colnago project. We cleaned up the shop and have a bunch of stuff to give to Vincent at Queen City Bike, also F**k Ice. Lovely Anna 🩷.

This tricycle is very special. It’s a 1934 Taylor and a family heirloom. Every child in their family has grown up riding it. Now they have great, great grand children and this year they went all out. They brought us the bike in pieces already painted. Dominic worked on the metals making magic happen. He rebuilt the pedals. The wheels were the biggest job. He even had to lace one of the wheels with the tiniest spokes. He painted the wheels and reassembled the bike today and WOW just WOW.

Finn is ready for CX season! Last spring Finn, who has been a part of the Spun family since he was like 10, found out about Berd spokes, made out of paracord. We made him a deal, order the spokes and help learn how to lace these bad boys up. He and Dominic spent many nights together lacing them up. Not an easy process!! Finn’s summer work schedule got in the way of finishing them until last week. He’s loving them now!!! Such cool technology, I’ve never felt anything like it.

Another cafe cruiser is done! This one was built for Dominic’s best friend Debra. Dominic found her a double butted Tange frame and used a Box groupset for the gearing. Added the front basket and some sweet Dyno frame pads and it came out so 🩷🔥🩷.

Mongoose Motomag circa 81’ (ish) came in for a clean up, new rubber and Dominic cleaned out the coaster too. 🔥 What year do you guys think this is?

Selling a very slightly used custom Surly Preamble, size LARGE, for a friend. I think he has maybe 1000 miles on it. We built this bike up with a Rival groupset and GX brakes, Hope hubs laced up to Mavic rims. Asking $1500.
