A little girl got bonked in the nose the other day. Not hard, but it was uncomfortable and scared her a bit. She wanted to cry/hide/give up. We have all been there.

Sensei Jojo coached her to go splash some water in her face, give her big brother a hug, and get back on the mat.

And that is what she did. She proved to herself she could handle what comes her way.

How do we - as adults - respond to tough moments? Do you know how to get back in the game? (Your life may literally depend on it..)

How do you coach those around you? Do you help them not let fear or momentary discomfort win? Their future success depends on it.

Our Dōjō had JUST opened, when Bryce and Harley - recent college grads - walked in, enrolled, and lead the way level by level to black belt - where they joined some of Mr. Norris’ longtime students.

They were brave enough to test out the program and this new martial arts school. We are delighted they have both stuck around, and we have watched them build beautiful families and careers…

(Back then, we could not have imagined all the wonderful folks that would walk through the doors of our little training hall! So lucky 😊)

Come on in and celebrate Bryce receiving his Sandan -3rd degree black belt - at this Saturdays graduation!

Kids as young as age 6 can participate- whether they train martial arts or not!

As our community develops these skills, not only are they (and their future selves and families ) safer - but having answers the worst case scenarios allows a person to act out of the best version of themselves - not out of fear.

We each have the ability to light up a little corner of the world. ☀️When your light shines bright - others catch it - and their world brightens up too. ☀️☀️
