Instructor Spotlight! 🔦🔦🔦🔦🔦
Name : Sarah /
Hey, I’m Sarah. A little bit about me - I earned my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Northern Kentucky University and began my career working in corporate fitness and wellness, along with personal training and group fitness. A coworker told me about a Pilates reformer class where she did what sounded like feet in straps and mermaid stretch. I didn’t know anything about it, but I told her I’d give it a try.
I walked into my first class expecting it to be all fun and games, but then I tried Long Stretch on a single blue spring and immediately crumbled like a paper bag. Then came Elephant Stretch, and things did not go much better. Pilates was way harder than I thought, and I
realized I was way weaker than I expected—so naturally, I had to get better. But I noticed that I left feeling taller, and my back didn’t feel achy after standing at work that day.
That mix of challenge and reward was a perfect combination to me. Pilates is both humbling and uplifting and I love that about it. After that, the real education began and I completed my
mat and equipment training—including reformer, chair, barrels, tower, and trapeze—through Balanced Body Education.
I’ve been teaching since 2012, mostly as a side hustle at first. In 2020, between the pandemic
and the birth of my daughter, Pilates became my full-time focus.
In April 2021, a couple of referrals led me to Cydney and 12th Street OTR, where I continue to teach today, as well as
12th street Covington.
My classes are fitness-based and focused on building strength and stability, as well as mobility
and flexibility. Expect posture work to keep you standing tall, planks, push ups, and of course, feet in straps.
