Lots Happening This Weekend at Happen!

Join us on Saturday, June 6, for our first-ever Adult Hatha Yoga in the Garden from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. with certified yoga instructor McKenzie.

Enjoy a peaceful hour of yoga surrounded by nature. Just bring a yoga mat and water bottle. Cost is only $5, payable at the garden gate.

Please note: Happen Art Studio will be CLOSED on Saturday, June 6, as we are proud to be a presenter at Art on the Rise at the Cincinnati Art Museum. The studio will reopen with its regular schedule on Tuesday, June 9.

Looking ahead to Sunday, June 7!

Stop by Happen's Toy Lab from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and create your own tiny float for Happen's Tiny Northside Fourth of July Parade.

Registration is $20 per individual or family and includes a NYPD Pizza Hoagie Box to get your creation started.

Take your float home to build or stay and create at the Toy Lab. We'll have plenty of materials available to help you design a one-of-a-kind tiny parade float.

Happen’s Make It Space is officially open and now fully equipped for screen printing, thanks to the generosity of Tom Duvall and Chris Glass, former owners of Wire & Twine. When they made the decision to close their business, it became a new beginning for Happen. Tom and Chris donated their screen-printing equipment, along with their time, talent, and expertise, helping transform our space into a fully functioning print studio.

Their support went far beyond equipment. Tom, along with his daughter Neko, helped paint the space, while Tom also built and installed worktables, storage cabinets, and custom fixtures throughout the studio. Chris designed the “Here to Make Friends” shirt, the perfect first print to come out of the space and the first design offered to the community. Chris was also instrumental in helping create Happen’s first online store as well as designing the posters and decorations inside the Make It Space. Together, Tom and Chris have shared their knowledge and guidance, helping Happen grow from one-color printing to a full six-color screen-printing process.

With professional equipment now in place, Happen’s Make It Space gives youth the chance to design, print, and produce their own work while learning real creative and entrepreneurial skills. The space will also offer public printing sessions and community workshops in the future, creating even more opportunities for hands-on learning and creativity.

To celebrate the launch, supporters can purchase the “Here to Make Friends” shirt through May 9. Every shirt sold helps support Happen and the future of Happen’s Make It Space.

Join us this Saturday, May 9th at Happen Outside Garden located at 1617 Hoffner Street, starting at 11:00 a.m. for a special Happen family celebration.
Enjoy hotdogs beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by a scavenger hunt for children, a ribbon cutting for our new fountain, and an ice cream social continuing until 1:30 p.m.
We welcome families with children 12 and under.
Bring a blanket, relax in the grass, and enjoy the garden. We look forward to seeing you there.
This is a free event with no reservation required. Guests are welcome on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

We are so grateful for the incredible support from our community as we continue to celebrate Rowan and Gray, who tied for First Place in the Student Silent Film Contest, provided by the Friends of Music Hall!
They earned a $250 cash prize, and it was amazing to see their film up on the big screen. Even more exciting, the film is already making meaningful connections beyond the screening. The film is already making an impact and has been selected for diversity training in Columbus, Ohio, helping bring greater awareness to ASL throughout the region.
Please take a moment to watch and enjoy their powerful work.
A special thank you to Friends of Music Hall for encouraging young people to tell their stories through film and for supporting opportunities like this.

Congratulations Rowan Redmond and Gray Oscar — First Prize Winners!

We are excited to celebrate Rowan Redmond and Gray Oscar, proud members of Happen's Teen Hall and our KMNH program (Kids Making the News Happen), for being selected as First Prize winners in the Friends of Music Hall Student Silent Film Contest.

Their film will be shown tonight on the big screen at Music Hall as part of the official screening event, where they will be recognized for their outstanding work alongside other student filmmakers from across the region.

This marks an exciting milestone for Happen Teens, as this is the third film in the past four years to be recognized in regional film festivals, including the Over-the-Rhine Film Festival, highlighting the continued creativity and growing impact of our teen filmmakers.

We are incredibly proud of the collaboration, storytelling, and dedication that Rowan, Gray, and the entire KMNH team bring to every project.

A special thank you to the Friends of Music Hall for supporting young artists and creating meaningful opportunities for student voices to be seen and celebrated in such an iconic venue. Programs like this help inspire the next generation of storytellers, creators, and community leaders.

Egg-citing News: Tomorrow’s Happen Easter Egg Hunts Are On!

We’re excited to share that the latest weather report shows the rain holding off until the late afternoon. That means 4,000 eggs will be ready in the Happen Outside space for tomorrow’s Easter celebration!

Saturday, April 4
Free Egg Decorating – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Happen, Inc., 4201 Hamilton Avenue
Kids can decorate six biodegradable decorative eggs at stations loaded with dyes, glitter, feathers, and more. Leave the mess and stress to us! First come, first served.

Free Photos with the Easter Bunny – 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Happen Outside Space, 1617 Hoffner Street
Bring your camera and snap a free memory with the Easter Bunny.

Easter Egg Hunts Start at 2 p.m.
The Happen Outside Space, 1617 Hoffner Street, 45223
Four age-appropriate hunts with over 4,000 candy-filled eggs.
Kids 12 and under only, and must be accompanied by an adult.

2 p.m. Egg Hunt for 1 to 3 year olds, and their parent or caregiver.
2 p.m. Egg Hunt for 4 to 5 year olds, and their parent or caregiver.
2:20 p.m. Egg Hunt for 6 to 8 year olds, and their parent or caregiver.
2:35 p.m. Egg Healthy Hunt for 9 to 12 year olds.

No reservations needed. All activities are free and first come, first served while supplies last. Events are designed for children 12 and under, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
