At first glance, an InPlay system can look simple. Just some turf and infill, a few walls, and netting around the perimeter. Why would that be better than a patch of grass? How could a mini-pitch actually invite more play? But once you actually step inside one...?

You get it immediately. ⚽

The game doesn’t stop every 30 seconds to chase a ball into the parking lot. Kids stay engaged longer. Parents can actually play with their kids instead of constantly retrieving missed passes and shots. And for beginners especially, the enclosed space makes soccer feel approachable instead of overwhelming.

Because an open field can sometimes feel like “now what?”...

An InPlay system invites people in and keeps the action moving. And with the World Cup on the horizon, creating spaces where people feel comfortable learning and playing the game matters more than ever! So grab a ball, some buddies, and try it out!

A lot can change in eight years.

Projects grow bigger. Teams grow stronger. New faces arrive. Careers evolve. Challenges appear that nobody saw coming. And somehow, through all of it, the people here keep showing up for each other. Eight years in a row doesn’t happen by accident... It happens when people care deeply about the work, the standards, the teammates beside them, and the purpose behind all of it.

And honestly? Awards are exciting. But what means the most is why this continues happening.

An employee-owned team that keeps showing up for each other. Crews battling through the unexpected together. People innovating, adapting, teaching, learning, leading, and building something bigger than themselves. A culture rooted in trust, accountability, growth, and purpose.

Because honestly, the best sports memories don’t always happen in giant stadiums.

They happen in neighborhood parks. After school. All summer long. And we can’t wait to watch this one come to life for the City of Newport, KY community! 💚

This one started with the students.

Not after the design was finished. Not once construction began. From the very beginning.

At Princeton Vikings, student-athletes helped shape the future of their stadium through the Shaw Sports Turf GAME ON design process - bringing their ideas, identity, and school pride directly into the field itself.

And over the last several months, we’ve watched those ideas slowly come to life. Piece by piece.

Because the best fields don’t just perform well. They connect to the people who use them.

You’d be surprised what gets left behind after a full school year in a turf field.

Jewelry. Headphones. Paper clips. Hair clips. Beverage tabs. Springs, pins, and even sometimes nails and screws!

And while some of it can disappear into the infill… some of it becomes a real player hazard. Most people never think about what’s hiding in a field until someone gets hurt. That’s a piece of why regular maintenance matters.
