A teammate described her:
- “I think she’s definitely the best player on the team but the most important factor is that she’s always uplifting people & she helps us learn a lot about golf”

A few highlights from the Sycamore Invitational on 8/4…

☀️ ⛳️ What a great day!!!!
Yesterday, we shot 216 over 9 holes; today, our average was 189 per 9 holes!! That's truly amazing! 🤗

🥳 DANI O’SHEA is the SPIRIT of our team!
She didn't get to play today but she walked with the girls, supporting & encouraging them all day!

💪🏼 OLIVIA COMBS was FIERCE! She persevered & improved by 25% from the first to the last 9 holes. She never gave up & did a great job!

🥒 ELIN LOCKWOOD was our COOL CUCUMBER! She had many good drives & kept her cool as she pushed through challenges out there with great consistency!

🏆 DIXIE BRIGAN was our MOST IMPROVED GOLFER over last year in this tournament! She walked through the beautiful day with a smile & with a respect for the game that would make any coach proud.

🏅 LEXI HOLZBACHER was our TEAM MEDALIST, shooting a remarkable 78! She's such a perfect example of how hard work & dedication can significantly improve your circumstances. She's so focused & enjoying herself out there on the course & it's fun to watch that!

💕 Coaching this team brings pride & lots of hope for a great season! The families of these young ladies have done a tremendous job of giving them a strong foundation of kindness & respect!

At the Harrison Invitational at Miami Whitewater, Oak Hills girls placed 7th of 16 teams.
LEXI HOLZBACHER shot a 79, improving her score from last year by 18 strokes! With this awesome score, she placed 7th of 88 golfers.
DIXIE BROGAN placed 9th!
ELIN LOCKWOOD improved her score from last season at this tourney by 15 strokes!!

Time to catch up on the first half of our 2026 season!!

8/3 vs. Harrison HS at Circling Hills GC:
It was a great day to jump into our season! Senior, LEXI HOLZBACHER was the co-medalist of the match with a 42! We can’t up short but always enjoy our time with Harrison HS!

8/4 - Sycamore Invitational at Walden Ponds GC:
We placed right in the middle of an incredibly skilled pack of teams from talent-loaded Southwest Ohio (11th of 22 teams). This was the day of great improvements!
LEXI HOLZBACHER tied for 12th individual overall & was our team medalist, shooting a remarkable 78, which was 10 strokes better than last year’s great score!
Sophomore, DIXIE BROGAN placed 18th & improved her score from last season by 12 strokes!
Sophomore, ELIN LOCKWOOD improved by 15 strokes from last season!

Congratulations to the Highlanders who were named GMC Athletes of the Week!

Cole Sweet Football Sr
Cole has been a great leader on the field, in the weight room during the pre-season. He brings high energy and great effort. to every day!

Asher Vath Boys' Cross Country Sr.
Senior Captain Asher Vath has been consistent in his summer training and ran a personal best of 5:04 at the mile time trial this summer.

Ethan Hobbs Boys' Soccer Jr.
Junior captain Ethan Hobbs scored the tying goal in the teams 1-1 scrimmage draw against Summit Country Day. Ethan is a varsity returner who looks to hold down the midfield for us this season. He has been one of the leading goal contributors throughout scrimmages heading into the regular season.

Abbey Burst Girls' Tennis Sr.
Senior, Abbey Burst, made varsity as a senior and her impact has been instantly felt as a leader. Abbey showed up to every optional workout this past off-season as she embodies a positive attitude and determination that is felt throughout the team. In addition to tennis, Abbey is a member of NHS Executive Board, Spanish Honors Society, and Younglife. Abbey maintains a GPA of 4.0 while working at Cinful Eats. After high school, Abbey plans on attending UC for nursing to get a BSN to eventually become a nurse practitioner with a focus on Endocrinology and Pediatrics.

Ava Tharp Girls' Volleyball Jr.
Ava was crucial in our scrimmage against West Clermont and Ross where we went 2-0 this week. She really stepped up as a first year varsity player and did a fantastic job of playing outside and back row for us. Ava ended the scrimmage passing a 2.0 with 3 aces and countless kills from the outside.

Lexi Holzbacher Girls' Golf Sr.
Lexi played on the Southern Ohio PGA Jr. tour this summer where she placed 17th out of 85 for the overall tour championship! For the player of the year she placed 7th out of 43!!!
She won the Beckett Ridge Open & placed 2nd in the Glenview Junior Open!

Cade Sauer Boys' Golf Jr.
Cade leads the Highlanders with a 9 hole scoring average 38.9. Cade was a Medalist twice last week.

Kaydence Todd-Oldfield Girls' Soccer Sr.
Kaydence has shown great leadership and commitment over the summer months. She is a 1st year Varsity player, and has shown she can play multiple positions on the backline and in the midfield. Kaydence not only gets it done on the field, but also excels in the classroom with a 4.57 GPA

The Oak Hills Athletic Boosters are selling the Oak Hills 4-in-1 tumblers for $20 as a fundraiser.

This very cool tumbler can hold a 12 oz can, slim cans, bottles & has a closable lid for hot/cold beverages. GREAT FOR TAILGATING!!!

I can attest that these are fantastic! I’ve been using mine all summer & it’s great at keeping all drinks cold till the last drink!
