Thammavong's Kwan, TSD. Traditional Moo Duk Kwan TSD, with heavy influence of Samurai ideology, battle mentality, and focus. Martial Arts at its core, is for self-defence and combat.

Thammavong's Kwan, utilizes the martial art system of Kwan Bahk Do, which was developed on the techniques, and ideologies of tradition Tang Soo Do, Shotokan Karate-Do, and Japanese Swordsmanship. The name Kwan Bahk Do translates as 'the way of the school of combat.' It is a martial art designed for combat. To often we find martial arts schools that focus too much on tournament and promotion, and t

oo little on real world application. The Samurai were a people bread for war, and war alone, not until the Edo Period did the non-combat arts flourish. Kwan Bahk Do, takes this and turns it into a effective and practical self-defence system. It's entire goal, and my entire goal as the creator of this system is to provide individuals of all ages, and gender, a clear-cut way to defend themselves in a complete and efficient manner. Whilst inculcating confidence, strong character, and clarity of mind and spirit.

In accordance with the recommendations from the White House, and due to the nature of Martial Arts, and high risks associated within for anticomunical purpuses. Karate class will be suspended for the remainder of March. Stay safe, stay clean and stay healthy. God bless you all and remember it's easier to make a difference, together.

When in combat always perceive the opponent, to be stronger, faster, and just simply better then yourself, even if you know that to be untrue, for what you do, is create a mentality, that makes you fight, smarter, faster, stronger, better! Never under-estimate the enemy, rather over-estimate them. When you do, you will conclude one of two things, one: that you must strive to better then you are, to overcome the opposition, but more so, number two: is you realise that it is better not to fight, for the reality is even if you defeat your opponent, you have yet to conquer yourself, and that is the ultimate adversary. Yourself.
