The following post is different from my usual content and was a lot harder psychologically to push out. This is because social media has the tendency for people to post at their best. This usually results in the portrayal of unrealistic standards. I understand a lot of personal trainers and those that derive traction from physical appearance capitalize on this, which is why I won’t. Commonly known for posting my gym progress quite frequently, it is always with a pump, good lighting, and use of camera angles.
That being said, I would like for this post to shed some reality. Throughout the year of 2023, I had a lot of negative energy and subsequently saw a rapid physical and mental health decline. I failed to prioritize my health in light of ignorance and prioritizing elements with little to no returns. Remember you only have one body so it is wise to take care of it.
I wanted this post to highlight the change that can be taken, and to be something that is tangible and realistic. The first image is from May of 2023, at my worst, and the second image is from December of 2023. The progress was not linear in this time, nor will it ever be (part of being human). That being said, I cleaned up my diet, refined my training, and began to prioritize my physical and mental health again which was the most I could do throughout this time.
The purpose of this transformation is to show how much can be changed in so little time with the right resources, knowledge, and application. It is easy for a majority of the population to attribute someone’s physique to YEARS of training, but in reality an immense amount of progress can be made in the matter of months.
