Talin Torres, Emory Cardinalli, Jesse Gwin, Gerald McKellar, Diggy Tellez and more finish off Barn Burner season in victory lane
Chowchilla, CA…The IRM Chowchilla Barn Burner presented by Victory Fuel capped off another season on January 31 and February 1 with events supported by Sagmiller Racing, Madera AG Services and Cain Trucking.
Fresno’s Talin Torres battled his way to the lead early in the Open finale and had his way with things up front, capturing his fourth win of the season, which led the way in the division.
Los Banos driver Brayden Diaz led early and came home in second followed by Connor Crews, Dominic Gorden and Drew Landgren. Landgren narrowly secured the title after an extremely consistent campaign.
The 250 Outlaw Kart championship came right down to the wire between brothers competing to see who would come out on top. The two title contenders, Emory Cardinalli and Ayden James Siaz shared the front row for the final feature of the season.
Cardinalli got the jump and ran a fantastic race, never faltering, en route to the win and the championship by just a single point over Siaz, who crossed the stripe in second. Vivian Lawson continued to display speed and pressure Siaz multiple times, before finishing third over Connor Penix and Ayden Kirkpatrick.
Sacramento’s Jesse Gwin raced to a dominating win in the Caged Clone division to pocket his third triumph of the IRM Chowchilla Barn Burner presented by Victory Fuel season. Gwin was followed across the line by Joey Brasil, Carson Schnell, Brad Huffman and 13th starter Blaine Walls.
Troy Anderson led the way with five Caged Clone victories and wrapped up the title.
Bakersfield youngster Gerald McKellar finished off the Box Stock championship in victorious fashion, leading flag-to-flag in the 20-lap finale. It marked his fifth win of the Chowchilla Barn Burner campaign.
Brock Frey, Lee Uzzell, Brody Robfogel and Noah Lewis rounded out the top five in the Box Stock A-main.
Fellow winners on the final night of racing included champion Diggy Tellez in Open Intermediate, who tallied his ninth triumph of the season, along with Frank Correia in Clones, Kaydin Van Tassel with the Pure Stocks, Faythe Correia in Stock Appearing, Nick Sagmiller with Stock Appearing Caged Clones, Jax Rocha in Junior Flat, Cory Smith in Beginner Box Stocks and Sophia Smith in Beginner Flat.
