The Choctaw High School and Middle School Swim teams gathered on March 5 at Belmar Country Club in Norman to celebrate a successful season and recognize the accomplishments of their athletes. Families and swimmers filled the venue for an evening that highlighted growth, teamwork, and the steady rise of the program across both levels.

The banquet served as a moment to reflect on months of early‑morning practices, competitive meets, and personal milestones. Coach Blake Shawn spoke proudly about the dedication shown by swimmers throughout the season, noting the progress made by both returning athletes and newcomers. Middle school swimmers were recognized for their developing skills and commitment, while high school athletes were honored for their leadership, competitive achievements, and contributions to the team’s culture.

Several athletes received individual awards for their outstanding performances and impact on the program. Cade Mounce was presented with the Charlie Award, recognizing his character and dedication. Easton Tyler earned the Most Improved Award for his significant growth throughout the season. Autumn Davidson was named the Outstanding Female Swimmer, while Parker Albee received the Outstanding Male Swimmer honor. Julie Stetter was recognized as the Top Female Scorer, and Colter Berens was named the Top Male Scorer, highlighting their consistent contributions in competition.

The program also took time to honor its graduating seniors. Carson Pappaterra, Caleb Ritter, Autumn Davidson, and Amanda Highley were recognized for their leadership, commitment, and the example they set for younger swimmers. Their presence and influence have helped shape the team’s culture, and they leave behind a legacy of hard work and encouragement that will continue to guide the program.
The event underscored the unity of the Choctaw swim community, bringing together athletes from both programs to celebrate shared goals and collective success. It marked a fitting close to the season and set an optimistic tone for the year ahead as the teams continue to grow in strength, depth, and enthusiasm.
