Killington Softball League

FYI, this is me being nice. Others choose not to be. I was told by Killington Town Manager Chet Hagenbarth I wasn't allowed to run or represent the league. I've run the Killington Softball League for 18 years and played in it for 20. For the 1st time since 1990, there won't be a league in town. In 2021, we were forced to play in Chittenden but at least there was still a league. Not anymore. PLEASE READ MY LETTER, I'm an open book. I could show up to any select board meeting I want but I'm being respectful. They won't even let me plead my case. I'm sorry but that's some BS. I was told last year the town wanted to take over the league. I emailed them in July 2022 and asked for a meeting in August where I would share with them everything needed to run a successful league, like I've done. They didn't bother to email me back, not even a "No, can't do that." We would have a league if they did. It's sad that beautiful field on River Road will sit vacant because of this. Nobody wants to run this league and they love playing in this league because of me. The only reason I've run it year after year is so we can all play softball. So I can't run it, nobody wants to run it and they won't run it so thank the Town of Killington for canceling a 33 year tradition.

Hi ballers. We definitely want to have a 2022 Softball League and we're trying to get back into Killington. I think we could have a pretty good league this year with at least 3 new teams. It may be a late start but keep the faith. Stay tuned

Congrats to Rock Warriors for completing the season undefeated and capturing their 2nd straight championship. They defeated Flannels Bar & Grill Fanatics 2 games to none. There were some great playoff games and it was an amazing season. There may have only been 4 teams this season but that's 4 GREAT teams. It was a fun season and we'll cap it off this Monday at 550pm with the All-Star Game and league sponsored BBQ. Thanks to all the teams, Rock Warriors, Flannels Fanatics, Dirty Mike & The Boys and First Stop Base Camp. HUGE THANKS to Barstow Memorial School for hosting us this season and Bud Light for sponsoring us. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to ump for us this season especially Matt Littler. It was a pleasure commissioning for you.

Does anyone want to add a team to our league? We play Mondays and Wednesday 5:50pm/7:00pm at the Barstow Elementary lower field at 233 Chittenden Road. Teams can have up to 20 people. Costs are still being determined but will cost no more than $600 per team. If you have 15 players, that's only $40pp. Or get a sponsor to pay for half. They get their name in the paper every week. League supplies balls, books, lineup cards, umps, trophies and a season ending party. Schedule will be made by Wednesday so this is a quick offer. Games will be played June 14 to Mid August.
