If this view looks unreal, that's because it almost is.
Located on the west side of Glacier National Park in Montana, Lake McDonald is the park's largest lake, stretching nearly 10 miles long and surrounded by towering mountain peaks, forests, and crystal-clear water.
📍 Getting There
The lake is easily accessed from the West Glacier entrance and follows the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road.

• Fish Creek Campground (largest campground in Glacier)
• Apgar Campground (great for lake access)
• Sprague Creek Campground (smaller, scenic lakeside camping)
🥾 Don't Miss
• Lake McDonald Lodge
• Avalanche Lake Trail
• Trail of the Cedars
• Sunrise and sunset along the shoreline
Summer is the most popular season, but early mornings and weekdays offer the best chance to experience the lake with fewer crowds.
